I love DK and the attention he receives from defenders but…this is spot on.The route DK ran was incredibly awful.
DK half assed it and rounded off and almost look like he was jogging with no sense of urgency.
And yeah if you look at DK on the sideline knows he is guilty of running a shitty and very lazy route.
I am not sure if DK knew he was the primary first read but if he did not know, that is also another problem and it is also a bigger problem.
Geno has probably stopped trusting DK to run routes correctly.
At the end of the day and let’s call it for how it is, it was a poor effort by DK (in which he has ran poorly previously multiple times and cost Seattle games) and not an NFL level route running example.
DK is not without all the blame himself. The pass defense was horrid, horrendous, terrible, awful, ugly, choose whatever words you want to use but Jettas absolutely destroyed Seattle’s secondary, at will, and Darnold was relatively in a clean pocket most of the day.
But…always a but….Geno has to recognize the route being broken as well. How many times have receivers broke routes and their QBs recognized that…and the QB didn’t make a boneheaded throw?
Definitely multiple factors at play…bad route….poor O-line…and not the best ‘IQ throw’ we’ve seen.
