i know its preseason however... truly watching the offense... I personally don't think Seattle has had a "complete" top to bottom offense feel to it like it did last night. I loved what i saw

i love the most these stats

Total Yards: Seahawks 477, Chiefs 156.
Rushing Yards: Seahawks 268, Chiefs 75.
Passing Yards: Seahawks 209, Chiefs 81.
First Downs: Seahawks 19, Chiefs 6

NOW yes i know its preseason but its still a good start and a good glimpse of how well this team is coming along chemistry wise and scheme wise.

Outside of that special teams oopsies in the 4th and our starting defense letting Minshew drive down the field into scoring territory, I thought the team looked pretty damn fantastic overall.

The absolute stars of the game was our starting OL. They were DOMINANT! I’m not sure if that was against the Chiefs starters or not but no matter. Those holes were wide enough for my ancient ass to run through.

How refreshing it was to see such a dominant OL and running game! I think we Seahawks fans forgot what that looked like.

Sam looked good. 4-4 passing. Give Kubiak his due as you can really see his philosophies all over the field on offense. This year should be a lot of fun for us fans. Pray for no major injuries.

My little pet peeve at the moment is Myers seems to have a problem not kicking the ball into the endzone on kickoffs. Did he not get the memo that by doing that the opponent automatically gets the ball at their 35 yard line? That can be HUGE during the regular season, especially against teams with prolific offenses that can move the ball.

Hopefully that gets sorted out in time for the regular season. But tonight is all about warm and fuzzies. This team is going to shock the world this year and we are in the front row.
There was more than one special teams oopsies.

The coverage unit on kickoffs has been subpar overall and that needs to improve. Otherwise it will end up costing us games.

As for wondering if the game was against Chiefs starters or not? There were 7 starters on Defense in this game (not sure if they were replaced as the game went along but definitely were there for Darnold's opening drive where the Hawks just dog-walked them down the field and into the endzone for a Charbonet TD).

It made me ill to see Mike Florio and Chris Simms debate whether the Hawks would be third or fourth in the NFC West. They're not the only ones either. Colin Cowherd picked them as first in the NFCW and his cohost basically called him an idiot.
People do call Cowherd an idiot but I don't care. This guy's been a Sam Darnold believer since Day ONE and that hasn't changed.

He predicted (correctly) that Sam Darnold would have a big year in Minnesota and he did.

He predicts the Seahawks will win the Division? Then I feel confident in that possibility coming to fruition.

LET'S F*CKING GO, HAWKS!!!

It was a fun game. At least there's something to be excited about.

I was thinking Meyers may be kicking it short for coverage practice reasons. No need to really practice touchbacks.
Well if that was for "coverage practice reasons", then they have a TON of work to do 'cause that was pure ASS on the field.

I think they tweaked the touchback rules this season to make it more desirable to kick to the landing zone and force more returns. Caught the end of a comment on TV where they said the yardline spot for a touchback on kickoffs was advanced to the 35 or something. I may be wrong, but it's not just us doing it.

Special teams is something we have always excelled at, but last year and particularly Friday night we came up way short on that stick. Our performance ws even more dominating that the score makes it appear. BOTH of the KC TDs were due to huge kick returns. Were it not for those they would be missing 13 points of their 18 score total.
