Let's chill about Grubb being pass happy. The running attack was big for the Huskies last year from about one third of the season on. Dillon Johnson got a lot of carries and rushed for 1200 yards last year.

That's what the offense looks like without him. Stacked boxes, Walker running like sh*t (no blocking), and our WRs struggling to find holes in the zone. Every down faces packed in defenses like a RZ defense.

As for Grubb, he's less to blame than our incompetent DC. At least we move the ball and get in scoring position. Our DC does nothing but fail all game. Far Far bigger problem.

The offense played like shit, but you don't excuse the defense for it. There are plenty of examples of good defenses that had shitty offenses. Not getting enough rest during games is no excuse. Call it what is is. We suck on both sides of the ball.

Whether it was John or not, he sucks at DC here.
The truth is while Grubb is nowhere near perfect, he's doing a better job as OC than our HC at either DC or HC.

The whole Grubb thing to me is about his approach. The whole no huddle thing then looking at the sidelines halfway through the the play clock to get the play is a total joke. That's college all the way. In the nfl if you're going no huddle hike the ball as soon as you get set. That's how you get a defense tired. And running the ball, this is not college, you can't always run the ball taking a shotgun snap. All that does is allow the defense to get a running start and blow up the running play. It's just not creative.

And the defense, now that's a whole different topic in my opinion.

I absolutely love Grubb's wide ranging variety of running plays. The innovative designs that rush from pistol AND shotgun, off both left guard AND right guard. That's 4 completely different plays! Talk about innovation that keeps the defense guessing. Outstanding!

The run game is absolutely not Grubb's fault. He can try to run jet sweeps, tosses, counters etc but if the talent is bad it's not going to work. The OL is simply awful at run blocking. This issue is 100% the fault of John Schneider and has been for the last 14 years.

Some OCs use the run to set up the passing game. Others use the pass to set up the run. That's Grubb.


I'm not ready to dump the guy just yet cuz I think we should take advantage of he and Huff's knowkledge of players at the college level for this next draft.Or that's one reason.

At Montlake, Lake totally destroyed our OL. Made them fat and slow. Wrongly, I wanted Huff fired for that. DeBoer kept him on and in just over a year he gave us the best OL in college football.

There's plenty of blame to go around. Dumping first year coaches may be a bit knee-jerk. But then again, maybe not. I think it's just way too early for such decisions and yep...the same thing is going on across the lake. I'm not typically the most patient guy around, but I feel patience is pretty much compulsory right now.

Bro, the OC is responsible for the offense. the position coaches on that side of the ball all report to him. He sets the standard and is responsible for maintaining accountability.

Man, some of you here should cool it with the “let’s blame Grubb” for every problem Seattle has on offense.

Grubb did not build this train wreck of an offensive line. He has what he inherited and uses the skill players he has to their utmost abilities.

Grubb can only take this offense so far with this group of lineman.

Give the man and hopefully a GM that makes the offensive line a high priority and Seattle can thrive under Grubb.

Maybe some posters have forgotten Seattles offensive line stunk before Grubb as well….yet, let’s just blame the OC….

The offense has no discipline. Thats the OC. Problem No 1

If we were more disciplined, we would execute better.

If we executed better, the O Line might actually be able to open up holes for Walker and block for Geno.

If those things happened, we'd resemble an NFL team.

All of those things fall into Grubb's court before you even start to talk about gameplan.

I've said it before... i think Grubb is more interested in play design and being known as an offensive mind than he is actually COACHING the offense.

O-line that can't run block + vanilla run schemes = horrible run game.

We literally have a thread called 'Is there a worse OL in the League?' where most of the respondents seem to believe the answer is no.

Before this game, we also had the #8 offense in the league.

But yes, the problem is clearly Grubb.... Not the struggling HC who also likely helms one of the worst defenses (certainly worst secondary) in the league.

I would much rather they sh*tcan our garbage DC. (If this is the HC...then yes please dump him too. The signs that he isn't going to be a head coach are screaming "Nope, not a keeper". Closer to Ty or Mora than Carroll or Holmgren.)
