The only times I fully expect losses are Pete Carroll’s Seahawks vs Sean McVay’s Rams.

It’s a new era now!

I expect Seahawks to be competitive in every game they play!

Win, lose, whatever the outcome is—a MacDonald’s Seahawks team will always come to play and give us a chance to win! Every single time!

That’s the expectations I have with MacDonald!

Not this I “expect to lose” BS, I mean, imagine you have a child that is participating in any kind of event, and before the event takes place, you tell your progeny, “I expect you to lose!”

Come on, what kind of energy and no hope or expectations is that?

Come on, man!!!!!

I never expect a loss.

Is it the first real test?, yep.

It can be a game that opens a lot of eyes.

The thing they have going for them, imo, is that Lions is the most traditional offense that they have faced yet. This will be the first real test for the defense.

I have more faith in MacDonald already than any defensive playcaller they've had in the last 10 years.

D will play and be ready.

It's up to the offense how the game turns out.

Seattle has a terrific player to counter every Detroit star except for Hutchinson. Huff and Grubb have some work to do to figure this one out. I would like to see Geno, at least a couple of times during pre-snap cadence, point his finger directly at Hutchinson and call out his number as an alert. If I see that, then I know that the week's preparation came with a preconceived plan to mitigate him.

Expecting a loss is a losers mentality! It's not a saying, it's the truth. It's ok there are always winners and losers, some of you were bound to be losers.
Also if they lose it doesn't make someone who went into the game with a winners attitude wrong or a loser but if you say "I told you they would lose" your just doubling down on loser status and competing to be "the biggest loser"
Ya, I said it and I meant it. Go Hawks l!

Why would I even bother to watch the game if I "Expected a loss",
it's a loser mindset in my book.

Expectation and Hope are two different things. Much like being optimistic and being in denial are also two different things.

If we can beat them with freaking Hurtt and Waldron I'm convinced we can beat them with Macdonald and Grubb. That is a HUGE upgrade from last year.

You fan your way, I’ll fan mine.
Absolutely no reason to project otherwise.

Personally I stated early and clearly that I can’t help myself, and that I’ll be happy as Hell to be wrong.

As far as a “losers attitude” goes, it’s not like any of our feelings or insights will have any impact on the actual game.

This thread is nothing more than a “temperature check”, kinda silly to make it about anything else.

Thanks for your input.

Yeah, I don't "expect" a loss. I think the Lions are the better team now and playing at home and for this reason I favor them over us. But it's not like they're unbeatable or anything. If we play a really good game, make fewer mistakes, and the ball bounces our way a few more times, no big surprise if we beat them. Like they say, on any given Monday night...
Besides Oline, where is Detroit better then us without question? We hands down have a better def backfield. Besides that ild say it's a pretty even matchup?

You're taking that saying out of context. Because that applies for people who actually have the ability to determine the outcome of that game or some aspect of their own life. i.e. So yes, if you're a player or a coach. expecting a loss would absolutely make you a loser. However in a situation where we are all just fans and we truly have no accountability in the outcome of the game. Expecting to win every game is not the mentality of a winner, that's the mentality of a homer. As well as expecting a loss, is also not a loser, it's just someone who might be pessimistic or has unbias perception.

btw I dont really have an expectation for this game, although I hope the Hawks win...and in some ways hope is an expectation.

I'm expecting a win for Seattle, close but still a win.
I'm also expecting that MAC will let the injured heal another week. Keeping Bradford and Forsythe in first offense.
The Hawks Defense is going to show its true strength this Monday Night!
