If you want to feel like the Seahawks contributed to the way the world shaped out, remember that with the 62nd pick of the 2013 NFL draft, the Seattle Seahawks selected Christine Michael.

Who was the 63rd pick you ask? Only one Travis Kelce.
How productive would he have been in an offense that wasted Jimmy Graham, though?

Yeah, the whole incel/hate the libs/sexism thing about TS kind of caught me off guard. I was just annoyed by the NFL whoring itself out to the celebrity hive. It was embarrassing to me.

Show me a regular season game, not Super Bowl or playoff game, where one non-athlete got as much coverage (audio and video forms) as Taylor Swift did each week she attended a Chiefs regular season game.

I may die of old age before you find one.
Watch any Cowboys game. Jerry Jones gets more coverage than the 35 seconds that Swift gets.

They also show NUMEROUS clips of athletes parents at games.

Debatable on Jerruh, but he's the OWNER of the team, it's football-related! Same with clips of the parents of athletes, but numerous? No, that's way overstating the reality.

We probably would have ruined Kelce, but it's even more frustrating wondering if he would have shown just enough to have prevented the Graham trade from happening altogether. We could have kept Unger and had that first rounder to spend.

You said "as much as taylor". She had 25 seconds of screen time in Chiefs vs Bills - that's a literal amount, not some number pulled out of my ear. You're saying that parents never get 25 seconds of screen and/or discussion time? I think you're overestimating how much she actually shows up.

I notice you're not listing how much audio time talking about her. Something must be said for the week-after-week-after-week cumulative effect as well.

So put her the halftime show, if the NFL can afford her.

I remember that and I was so angry. But in hindsight I don't think Pete and his offense never really knew how to utilize TE's or a player like Kelce anyway.

Kelce was on my radar, but I'm pretty sure I wanted us to take Stedman Bailey when that pick came up.

I never liked giving up Unger.

"If you dislike the amount of coverage Swift is getting, you're automatically misogynist" is a pretty weak rebuttal.

First off, Swift is like the most popular person in the world. Her presence at NFL games has garnered more attention than any other celebrity I can think of. What's the stats on Eminem and Matthew Mcconaughey compared to Swift? And did Cowherd really just say Nicholson was "celebrated" as a Laker's fan in the 80s and 90s? Everyone who wasn't a Lakers fan got absolutely sick and tired of seeing him over and over every game, and were vocal about it. However, unlike Swift, I don't recall sports shows, articles, etc spending much if any time at all talking about Nicholson.

If you Google NFL news, you're going to find articles about Taylor Swift. If you watch ESPN, you're going to hear about Taylor Swift. I don't recall this being a thing with Eminem, Matthew McConaughey, or even Jack Nicholson.

When Russ and Ciara got together, I don't recall her being shown during the broadcast all that much. I don't recall seeing articles every day about them, either. Even so, the amount of discussion and attention it garnered was somewhat irritating. Same with Tony Romo and Jessica Simpson to an even greater degree.

The common denominator here is not women. It's the continued obsession with who star athletes are dating. It gets more attention than their children, their parents, the charities they donate toward, etc. Talking about who's dating who is like the lowest form of gossip in existence. Now we have star NFL tight end on multiple super bowl winning team dating the most famous person in the world. So yeah, people are going to bitch about it to a higher degree than the examples I listed above.

If Travis Kelce was dating Justin Bieber instead, people would still complain. Although, I'm sure the narrative would change from misogynist to homophobic. As long as they get to claim that people are bigots. That's what they love to do.

"Insecure men"... Give me a break. Even if insecurity is at play, is that supposed to be an insult? Insecurity involves mental health. Therefore they are insulting people with mental health disorders. Why is it generally accepted to insult men for being insecure? Seems sexist. See, I can play this game too.

Also, bitching about this is really no more pathetic than bitching about our team when we suck ass. It's just a football game. Are we going to call people insecure for bitching about their team playing poor defense? For drafting shit players? Of course not. Taylor Swift, though... My goodness how dare anyone complain about such a holy goddess.

According to Mizzou, at least.

Calling someone a misogynist, bigot, etc is no different than calling someone a doodie face. Any kind of name-calling is a go-to move for people who can't put together reasonable logic and reasoning.

Unfortunately, we live in a time where such name-calling catches on when it's repeated enough, which caters to a lot of people's inclination to dumb things down to such simplistic categorization.

There's no other explanation for being this angry and annoyed by a pop star enjoying her boyfriend playing football, other than insecure men don't like a strong liberal women getting attention for all of 30 seconds a game.

It absolutely should not bother you this much......and the more pages you guy spend defending your ridiculous opinion about this issue, the more it confirms what most of us think.

I'm not angry about it. Just annoyed. What does kind of anger me is seeing people jump to the "you just hate women!" claim.

Even if I was angry, there are literally thousands of other explanations. Why can't you see them? I just pointed out that a common denominator is that fans just don't like seeing a bunch of attention and gossip about who athletes are dating. Since this is the NFL, where 99.9999999% of players have always been men, and most men are straight, guess what.. the people they date tend to be women.

What about when they show players' moms on the sidelines? If if there are so many insecure men who hate seeing strong women get attention, why aren't we seeing anyone complaining about the attention players' moms get? Seems like that would happen if your assumption were true, no? Therefore, we can deduce that there is something else about the situation due to the lack of commonalities. Perhaps what I suggested.

I enjoy debating. That's why I come here and make a bunch of posts. It's fun for me. It's competitive.

At the end of the day, I have nothing against Swift. I don't care for her music, and she's doing nothing wrong. It's a mild annoyance that broadcasts and journalists and all that are giving her that much attention, but football spectatorship is a hobby of mine so I opine about mild annoyances. However, when people start calling others misogynist, that tends to annoy me even more, because it's such a dumbed down way to look at it, and it's jumping to conclusions. I don't want to live in a world where people jump to such flimsy conclusions, especially considering how frowned upon it is to by misogynist this day and age. If you're gonna label people as such, there needs to extraordinary proof, not convenient assumptions.

Your reasonings are riddled with holes.
