Great stuff Montana. Re: McCoy: if he can't put it together or stay healthy, do you think the Hawks are more likely to bring in a blocking specialist TE?

I don't like the idea of not having a solid blocking TE. Helfet, Willson, Graham don't seem likely to contribute like Zach did (it was almost like having another lineman out there).

I noticed that on their TD drive Frank Clark wasn't there. He could have been a difference maker in that drive, they had Scruggs and Smith playing DT and couldn't bring any pressure and Osweiler had all day to throw the ball.

Some of these developmental OL aren't even close yet but I expect guys like Sokoli and Davis to develop on the PS. We'll see if Nowak can over take LJP.

That was a bad tackle by Pete on that zebra. He barely slowed him down.

For example Anthony McCoy? Do you think he dropped and penaltied his way out of Seattle? On the other hand,

I don't know if you can do that in Week 1, especially if the coaches have remained high on you through two seasons of injuries. But he probably only has two more games to turn it around.

Tye Smith might have taken the lead in the DB competition.
I think Tye Smith is the next great LOB member. He looked good.

I don't want to brag or anything, but I did call the draft pick in the draft chat ;)

Graham has mentioned that the coaching staff has him blocking more often than receiving this year. We'll see if he's effective in that role.

1. Denver blitzed like it was a Madden game.

Another excellent point that you reminded me of...the NFL sees Seattle as what they are, a Super Bowl contender. They're going to be taking their shots on us. Any team with established talent and philosophy will be wanting to put chinks in our armor.
Denver has a new DC in Wade Phillips this year, who likes to blitz. No doubt that's going to be a big part of their regular defense this year so it makes sense that they would want to work on their blitzes during the preseason.

Great write-up Montana. I agree with most of your analysis.

Some posters ask why not Graham. Besides the obvious, he is likely not healthy, I'd rather see someone else. Graham would telegraph that we are running.

I would rather see them pick up Evan Mathis. He does really well with zone blocking, good enough pass blocking and as an established veteran, his experience can be used to make the line blocking calls.

Daniels will switch back to QB until TJack is healthy IMO.

excellent take on the game and I agree with nearly all of it

i watched Bailey stand flat footed as the 3 tech swam him and ate RW

poor technique in the pass blocking

Sweezy let a guy through too. I think this is correctable. But pass blocking has never been this line's forte.
