To win against Baltimore, you need to leave the pocket and scramble. The pocket collapsed really fast and Geno didn’t have a clue on who is blitzing and recognizing zone versus man. The defense mixed it up really well and exploited our weaknesses.I will say this, being up by two scores made it even more tougher as Baltimore was playing more aggressive. I think a running QB or am elite passer like Burrow could have changed the dynamics. Geno just was lost and he was reluctant to change his launch point away from pressure. There was no option to climb the pocket or stay in. Bobo and JSN could have been utilized to make the run more effective. Anyways, I hope we get Geno ready for the next one.

Dude if you can't run the ball against the Ravens their D front will destroy you. To have any success against this team you have to control the LOS and the Hawks didn't do that. That is why they lost this game that and TOP, 3rd down %, also stopping the run on D.

LTH
Can't run the ball when they've loaded the box.

Opponents have figured out, if you load the box on 1st and 2nd down--and dare Geno to beat them, he can't do it.

This strategy is going to be seen every week going forward. There is a blueprint.

Defense gassed out due to being on the field all game.

The centerpiece of their problems is Geno Smith.

Anyone obsolving blame from Geno Smith in this game and the last 4 games is a real piece of work.

The dude's a turnover machine, and you want to see the numbers. LOL.

I'll save you the trouble. The numbers have been trash for 4 games.

239 yards per game
62.3% completion percentage
89.1 rating
4 TD
6 INT
2 fumbles

3 year, $105M
Yes, Fade. I want to see the numbers. Not counting numbers, those don't tell me much of anything about why Geno and the offense are struggling.

I'm sorry that reality conflicted with your opinion, Troll. Enjoy the celebration, though. It's a long season.

For the record, I thought Geno should of got no more than 10 million a year, but good for Geno. Smith is doing a good job, but not worth the contract. The Seahawks don't have all the pieces together yet, so let Geno do his thing.

I think they also over paid DK.

I posted in one the draft threads, that I would of took Jalen Carter and Will Levi in the first round. Those would of been better options, and had a QB competition with Lock and Levi.

If they would of drafted Levi, Geno might of signed for a 5-7 million contract in the summer, if no real interest came from other teams. If not, another team would of been on the hook for 25 million for Geno Smith's services, which I would of been o.k. with.

The bottom line is the Seahawks need to get smarter with the big contracts. Jamal Adams, DK Metcalf, and Geno Smith are all over paid. Over paying players leads to talent issues on the team.

Whenever we face teams with good pass rush, we will not survive those games, like BALT. Our offense was built for what Russ likes, he liked guys that are good 50/50 guys, not quick hits. If our running game cannot breakout, it makes it even harder. Lockett is the one guy that could play that game but he is aging and not sure he could take the pounding. Would of been nice to hit on the Eskridge pick. This is also not Geno's game, he is a mid to long type and quick decisions are not his game.

Worst game in a very very long time. Got absolutely dominated and pushed around. Entire team loss. Not just Geno, the entire team looked unprepared, outmatches and outcoached.

On to Sunday, they better damn well come out pi**ed off, because they have a Gauntlet coming up.

Regardless of Fade or anybody else on the board, is it perhaps time for you to do a bit of soul searching regarding your opinion of Geno Smith?
I do this soul searching regularly. I don't think you read most of my posts.

I have always maintained that Geno is a short term option, and should not be seen as the future. I am a FAN of his because of his story and his arm talent. I believe he can play better than he is, and that he's proven it, but I'm not sitting here constantly defending bad play.

He's pressing lately, and it's leading to really bad outcomes, but he can operate decently if other units aren't in peril around him.

If his level of play continues through the rest of the season, I believe they should utilize the out in his contract.

Geno is not going to elevate this team. He can play well in spurts when everything else around him is fine. Even then, he may do make a turnover that results in everything around him not being fine. Schneider needs to quit sitting on his hands sooner than later and start trying to find that guy in the draft. In the interim, I'm not sure how you don't go to Lock and see if he can light a spark. Maybe Lock didn't write back to anybody in 2023 and we get the benefit of that...

I think that quarterback changes need to be very deliberate and thought out. Although it may seem like a good option to us as fans, it's a significant move that has far-reaching consequences.

They're especially hard to justify for winning teams that are in the playoff hunt.

I think that good organizations usually do it the right way, which is riding it out and giving the next guy an offseason to settle into the role.

As lackluster as Geno has been, he wasn't exactly the only problem. The offensive line and running game were just as, if not more, exposed. Lock isn't a panacea for those ills.

My worry is (and was) that the time to get the QB position right was last draft when you had the capital to do so. Could they have moved up a spot for Richardson? a couple of spots for CJ? Maybe just take Levis?

I've been crticial of Geno ever since he took the job but even I think he's capable of playing much better than he is. The line needs to get healthy and sorted and that would help a ton.

These next 4 or 5 games will tell a LOT about this team, imo. They're either pretenders who feasted on an easy schedule, or they're a pretty good team that is close but not quite there. I still think they have a very good chance at a playoff spot, one clunker doesn't change that.

However, we are starting to see some concerning patterns with this team. Not just at QB, but O Line, a blatant refusal to adjust in game by Waldron and a defense that is looking tired because the Offense isn't doing sh** lately.
Outcoached, pushed around in the trenches, etc.

Considering what it took to move from 12 to 3, I don't think anyone would've taken our calls. The top 2 were set on QBs, and Indy probably was too. It would've taken some crazy maneuvering and my guess is that it would've been flatly rebuffed unfortunately.

Would've just needed Denver to be a smidge worse.

Agreed..entire team loss but the end game falls on the QB who should make adjustments if the walls are caving in...Geno made no such adjustments...he's one dimensional when the pressure is on. Geno needs to either get out from the pocket or get the ball out faster. I've seen more than once somebody completely open and Geno didn't see the open player and the play either fizzles or he makes some kind of mistake. This is why the fans have become frustrated with Geno. Personally I think the reason he did so well the first half of last season is be no one had much to go on and with so many new weapons. Now Geno is figured out and what seemed like a promising season is going to be a season of frustration from this point on..IMHO
