I didn't read the whole 14 page thread, so maybe this was covered.

This is who I'm supposed to be excited for? Maybe if it was 2020?

Is he great at breaking up screens? That would be cool.

They were already going to have to jump through hoops for cap space next year. If they are trying to keep LW its going to cost something like cutting Lockett and Diggs.

Love the player, unsure about the compensation. If the team goes far in the playoffs, it's a good move.
It's only a good move if they keep him around. Giving up a 2nd for half a season is not how good teams operate. He's not going anywhere.

His sacks this year might not be impressive, but I believe Leonard Williams has over 20 quarterback pressures this season, and ranks as one of the top in the league in that regard. At least that is what I heard on the radio this morning, but I am not sure where to find that statistic, can anybody confirm?
He had nine QB pressures against the Jets yesterday

Thanks for the clarification...I stand corrected. My brain misremembers frequently nowadays. Still...Mirer for a #1 was a fleecing for his massive drop-off in production.
Yes it was

I think what some people are overlooking is the locker room. They brought in Frank Clark, and then, when nobody had the Hawks on their radar screen for the trade deadline, they bring in Williams. The Hawks ain't effing around. That gives a giant jolt to the locker room, believe you me. They know that the head coach and upper brass believes in them, so much so that they didn't mess around when such a player became available. That's huge.

I'm in on this 100% until proven otherwise.

Yeah man, what a defeatist attitude.

5-2 and adding some really good D-line depth and a much needed interior playmaker, and fans just want to tear it all down or do nothing cause they don't like Geno.

Who btw, has less interceptions than Mahomes, Allen, Tua and Hurts.
Not to mention the fact that JS is really adept at ADDING draft picks in creative ways. I expect this to net out to getting LW for a 5th

After last year we all knew they needed to shore up the middle of our defensive line. Not only did we do that, we made it one of our team’s strengths.

Yeah. And because of him doing that, it has allowed Thibodeaux to not get double teamed, and he has 5 sacks in 2 games. And that’s what he will do for our guys also.

Nothing better than a dot net semi-meltdown after they just made our D Line better. Oh the horror.
Getting better sucks!!!!!!!! Plug and play guy, ready to rock right away.

Draft picks are a total crapshoot. Nicely done JS.
I agree.

Yes , they gave up 2024 2nd and a 5th in 2025. They got a guy that they think will come in immediately and make a good defense better. Even with the offenses problems , they scored 24 points against one of the best units in the NFL. I have a crazy theory , maybe they're thinking if the offense continues to falter they can
Still win lower scoring games . They won a bunch of those type of games 8-10 years ago.

The Giants got Williams for a third and fourth round pick as he was entering his prime, while the Seahawks just paid a second and fifth, when he is already past his prime. They flat out overpaid for him. Reminds me in a much less egregious way of the Jamal Adams trade.
How many million of his salary did the Jets pay, when they traded him to the Giants for a 3rd and 4th?

He has not done as well under the current defensive coordinator. It’s a scheme thing. Also, the weak secondary behind him means that QBs have options to get rid of the ball before pressure can get to them.
