Traitor? The NFL is a business and being quarterback in it is a job. It's incredible how many people here still play the scorned girlfriend. Y'all need to finally make it beyond high school in terms of EQ.
Yes, it is a business...But, his actions were clearly intended to undercut Pete Carrol and John Schneider. It is a business...but that was some back stabbing action. Like some "tough guy gunfighter" shooting his opponent in the back.
It is all in fun on a football forum...not some weird personal confrontation...Y'all.

Um, like seriously…
I m telling you. Football hasn't been his priority in God knows how long, and I'd wager it was always a means to an end for him to a degree. Which is fine. Nobody's mad at ADB for swapping his helmet for the CEO cap after retiring early. But ADB was a student of the game, a consumate pro, dedicated teammate and is beloved by all for his character and what he meant to our team.

Russ? The article cites how he's following Manning's footsteps after his 'quarterback ' series launched. The difference? Manning is retired.

#3 is more concerned with outside of football activities than he is the reasons why his game stinks like a #2.

God bless John Schneider. Just wish he had the agency to pull a trade or whatever back in 2019 or so when they first started looking at other qb options. We'd be well into Dynasty Mode by now. So much time squandered.

As much as id love to have gotten rid of russell 3 or 4 years ago, I honestly couldnt be happier about where we are at right now.

Backstabbing happens all the time in the business world. Dog eat dog and cover your ass are common terms that are part of the lexicon. I see nothing in Russell's actions that were unique or out of the ordinary.

I'm not saying that all should be forgotten and forgiven as what he did was disloyal to those that gave him his big break and made him into who he is and his dishonesty with his fans was extremely disingenuous and very selfish, but the shock and awe expressed by some indicates a bit of naivety as to how the real world works.

It is unique and not at all ordinary for a player to lobby for his coach and GM to be fired so that he can use them as a smoke screen to cover for the fact that they were correct in seeing that he wasn't the player he portrayed himself to be or that the team needed. If you disagree, when else has it happened? When else has a player so vociferously claimed innocence and ignorance at being traded not only knowing it was happening, but actively lobbying teammates to come with him to his preferred destination.

Trying to normalize that kind of behavior is ridiculous. It doesn't occur everyday in business or in sport and when it does, it's grounds for that player or employee to be terminated and for their actions to be reflected in their record for any enquiring eye to see for the remainder of their career. Russ wasn't just 'doing what business people do'. He was doing what narcissistic, ego driven people do. Trying to couch it as the everyday behavior of business people is like trying to minimize criminal activity because it happens everyday.

And he will forever be remembered for it. As will his final, unceremonious and revealing years with the Broncos.

There are some doozies out there. Boston trading Babe Ruth to the Yankees for cash. The Lakers trading the Jazz an aging Gail Goodrich for the pick that landed Magic Johnson. There's the Celtics' trade that brought a youngish Robert Parish and draftee Kevin McHale to them for the picks that brought the Warriors the utter disappointment of Joe Barry Caroll and a nondescript forward named Rickey Brown.

There's a bunch out there.
You forgot the H.Walker trade that got J Johnson/Cowboys 2 SBs and Dallas 3 total.
I wish the Me2 trade was even close to that,I'd sure be happy if we get one SB from it.

Remember when he played here it was all the olines fault? No he just got washed fast..fat..and full of himself. Most lopsided trade in pro sports history.
He was always blaming the OL even before he got fat..Pete and John knew
that spending big on OL with him was a waste long before anyone else
figured out why.
I remember thread after thread crying about it..Denver bought into that trap
though.
Fun to watch the circus from afar!

I had some long debate with the one and only John63. He used 2.4 sec as the bench mark, how Wilson couldn't be his best because he only got 2.4 sec in the pocket. I always countered that all good QBs received or needed less than 2.4 seconds before they throw the ball. Ug Ben was 2.1 or was it 2.2; Brady too

Really? Yes, it's a job, and you do it the way your bosses want you to do it. You don't work to constantly undermine your boss and promote yourself over everyone else. You don't try to put on over on a whole city by pretending to be a saint while using your charity to benefit friends and family. If your employee did that, you wouldn't be pissed?
