24 million, 3 year contract, front load guarantee 2. Pick a QB in every draft. That’s my strategy on where we are.

I want Geno for less than 30M a year, and a 3rd year Hawk option to opt out.

I love Geno. I love his story. I love the way the locker room has responded to his leadership.

But we've yet to experience an critical game where Geno hasn't thrown up all over himself in critical situations......and that bothers the hell out of me. Dude always seems to step in it, and in games like we saw Saturday? We need a QB that at MINIMUM doesn't make critical mistakes.

15 million a year for 2 years with 3rd year option. Seriously where else is Geno going to go? Not like the phone is ringing off the wall with offers for him. Definitely draft a QB. Draft a center, O-line and D.

No team gave up close to as many yards as the Seahawks did This weekend. The defense needs to be fixed If we want to compete for a Super Bowl. At a reasonable price Geno makes sense for the next 2-3 years while we develop another QB behind him. Fix the defense.

Geno is not the guy. Yes, his stats are very good due to our offensive weapons. Geno lacks the killer instincts to take over a game. All season long Geno was never the guy who took over a game for the Hawks. If you are rebuilding, why pay a QB 30Mil. Go with Lock, build the defense and draft a QB.
This.

Hard No. It was awesome to have Geno this season but this teams strength is about the same as it was with Russ, not good enough. Geno's ceiling just isn't high enough for a shot at a super bowl. We need to develop a young QB with the rest of this young team.

I like Geno but can we afford him? My gut says "no".

overthecap.com shows us we only have $22.33M in effective cap space in 2023. How on earth can we franchise him in 2023 for $32M? We can't.

So, one option is to sign him for at least three years and give him a huge signing bonus that can keep his 2023 cap hit reasonable ($8 - 10M?) and absorb his MUCH larger cap hits in 2024 and 2025. But my preference is to not make that commitment to him. I'd rather go with affordable youth.

My strong preference is to let Geno go in FA and sign Lock to a 2-year contract at $6 - 8M/year and let him compete for QB1 with either CJ Stroud or Will Levis (using our #5 overall draft pick).

It will be fun to listen to all of the haters when we resign Geno. So many clueless know-it-alls, lets let management figure this out, we'll go along for the ride. They actually know more than the fans do. If you don't agree with the decisions made, there are 31 other teams to follow.
As far as paying players, not that it would ever happen now, but all QB's, all players, should be paid a flat rate with performance bonus's. Pay them all 10 Mill with the ability to get all the way up to fourty mill for a great season. Those that fall on their face will be paid according. These huge payout for busts are stupid. Let them earn their pay every year.

-- I can't bring myself to vote one way or the other, as it has too many variables. If he is at $20m per for a couple of years, I could live with that. Doesn't preclude us from drafting someone. But this is his only chance at the big payday he never had. Second rounder, then perennial backup. If he sniffs anywhere north of 20, I say move on.

Just say no to Geno. I don't think that's a hot take by me, I've said it all season. :)

This. I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees "Do you want Geno?" and "Do you think paying Geno when there's holes all over the team in a clear rebuild is a good idea?" are two separate questions.

I always hate this argument. Why are we even here then? Expressing your opinion isn't anywhere close to claiming to know more than the front office. I like speculating, and if I'm wrong, I'll just admit I was wrong. This place would be boring without any expressing opinions.

Get serious, Neither Geno (over 4,000 yards his first full season in over 8 years) NOR ANY OTHER QB is going to "Take Over a Game" when our Defense was PLAYING LIKE WARMED-OVER SHIT.
Geno actually beat out RW's record for the 'Most yards by a Seahawks Quarterback, AND ON TOP OF THAT, made the Pro-Bowl.
Geno needs a FOR REAL Center, RG, & a RUN GAME to keep Defenses Honest & Guessing where the next punch is coming from, OH AND, a Legit #3 WR.
EVERYBODY in here is speculating the hell out of what THEY believe he's going to WANT to stay in Seattle...John & Pete will know if the price is right.
Geno IS NOT a scrub.

This team needs weapons for Geno to be our QB1 for the next 3 - 4 years.

We need to add difference makers like Deebo, Aiyuk, Kupp, Kittle, and/or Bosa.

Until we get a few of them, we're carrying a knife into a gun fight with the Niners and Rams (when healthy).

One thing that is evident is that Geno just doesn't have the "it" factor. When the chips are down, he can't will the team to a win. We've seen many times this season that he couldn't lead a team to victory against teams such as the Panthers, Falcons, Raiders, and Bucs. With that said, he still led the team to a 9-8 reocrd in the regular season. So he's at least a solid QB. It would be nice if the team can bring him back on a fair deal ($20-30M yr).

Let's really consider this, Geno is going to want to get paid and he has earned it. But do you think he has trade value? He will find a team willing to pay him.

What the hell are you talking about? Weapons? Like Lockett, Metcalf, Dissly, Parkinson, Penny and Walker?

Finish this sentence for me, if Patrick Mahomes was our QB... (and we had a decent defense)

Answer: We would be headed to the super bowl.

How about this one, Geno was a backup QB because...

Answer: His ceiling is too low.

Anybody with half a brain would understand the differences.

Clearly, Dissly and Parkinson are NOT Kittle... nor is Fant.

Lockett is NOT Deebo... and DK is NOT Kupp.

And NOBODY on the Hawks defense is Bosa.

Really, get real.

So what you are saying is we get rid of our star players for even better players to make it possible for Geno to win? Alrighty then, that makes perfect sense.

Because getting an elite QB that can utilize them is just too complicated.

Oh, you forgot Walker is not McCaffrey. I'll have to agree with you on that.
