Worst Dominating Win...

I think our clock management has been pretty good, nothing to complain about. But maybe that's just me. I'm having a hard time remembering any time I've been irked by it.

I know Greg Olson was beaking on the broadcast about not using the timeout and having more time at the end of the half, but the way the game was going at that point, I was surprised but I could see the reasoning. The O was not moving the ball. I can see why he just wanted to play for a FG and leave no time for the Vikings.

I did like how for the first time with a big lead and everyone knows you are going to run the ball, they actually did. And Sam did not have any silly ints to give the Vikings any kind of life

4th down management has been more annoying to me honestly, but the end of the rams game maybe clock management, 10 more seconds and one more play and we woulda made the kick

Plus the D was offensive today

I explained this before, but I was totally fine with their clock management at the end of the half. In a different situation I might have felt differently, but not this one.

We had the ball midfield with three timeouts remaining and about 45-50 seconds on the clock. Plenty of time to get into FG range and go up 13-0 at the half. Which was what they did. And they left only a couple of seconds on the clock. Near perfect.

MM knew that if we played conservatively and didn't turn the ball over, we'd in all likelihood win the game playing against a rookie QB who was in way over his head against our D.

Like I said, a different situation might have called for a different clock management strategy. But not this one. This one proved highly successful.

Have to give Brian Flores credit. Their defense executed their plan as well as they could have hoped. They lived in our backfield, had four sacks, forced two fumbles, pressured Sam Darnold relentlessly, and completely took away our best offensive weapon in JSN.

We still won by 26 points.

A great sign for a team is when they win while being forced to play "left handed", meaning that we win in an unorthodox way. Darnold kept his wits about him, kept cool, and didn't force the ball.

My only complaint was the poor clock management at the end of the first half. Didn't take the time out after we stopped them on third down, wasted almost a full minute before getting the ball back, and went into halftime with two time outs in our pocket. Better time management could have gotten us a touchdown rather than a field goal.

On to Atlanta.
My man The Tabs has a Trent friggan Dilfer signature.

The wild thing is that even in the Rams game which was Sam's worst as a Hawk, they still had a shot at winning in the "unorthodox" manner in the end.

This team is far more complete than we realize.

This^^

Number 7 against the pass, we really rely on the pass.. as much as we run the ball our offense is really about play action pass. Plus that pass rush was really good from Minnesota. I thought we got the best of Harrison Bryant today eventually. I’m not giving Tippy Darnold a pass but k9 didn’t exactly look for work in pass protection against those blitzes. He’s gotta hang back more so he can see where it’s coming from
Tippy....Darnold?

I assume you're referring to the tipped passes at certain points of the game, right?

Not sure what else you wanted Darnold to do there. It was just good defensive play by the Vikings. *shrugs*

My team put up 26 points against a good D while not looking dominant. Once again understand Minnie has a darn good D.

My team seriously kicked Minnie’s butt on D today. That was fun to watch!!!

Lots of chatter here about style points. Holy Moly the D shut them out and frankly it wasn’t ever close.

Think on 26-0, a schiet kickin’.

Our team is 9-3 and lost those 3 by a huge total of just 9 points (4,3, 2).

Officially still the 5 seed, yet thought by many to be a lot better. They are moving up.

Sure want a home playoff game this year.
