How can any dominating shutout win be bad? It's a tough thing for any team to accomplish in the NFL Teams have won Superbowls this way....in awhile. That is all.
Go Hawks.
Agreed. Their QB was horrendous. Which led to the shutout. The QB left many plays on the table yday. The 10 pt swing PICK 6 is the obvious one, but there were many relatively open throws that he missed. Not to try and take the sheen off the defensive performance, which was great, but more proficient QBs would have been able to generate more traction down the field. Shutouts are a rare thing (especially when weather isn't prohibitive) so it should rightly be celebrated but the QB play was very underwhelming.
The Colts look beatable.Must admit I'm very convinced of two things:
1) This defense is elite and it is getting better week to week. If they can get Love, Rylie and DJ back in the rotation with everyone else healthy, the league will have a real big problem. They have the potential to keep us in any game or flat out win the game on their own.
2) I concur with all of the posters here who are deeply worried by the offensive production. With each passing game, it feels the book on Darnold is getting clearer and clearer for defensive co-ordinators (in simple terms, turn the pressure wick up to 11 and force quick decisions). In this game, despite 0 INTs I actually felt less convinced by our offense than the Rams game. Here, the line could give absolutely no protection throughout the game. Props to Charbs and Walker for turning many negative runs into small/notable gains, saw this repeatedly.
My expectations and hopes for the year are Superbowl; if they were just to get into the playoffs, I'd be just focusing on the incredible defense, and hoping the offense is able to clean things up to some degree. However, my expectations are far higher than that so as I posted on the gameday forum y'day, that was the most depressed I've felt watching a blowout win purely because this sort of play is likely not going to be good enough when it matters against a challenger in January. I'm not sure why we need to have this constant mocking by the two sides of the coin ("enjoy every win" vs "having concerns over the deficiencies in a win"), people have differing perspectives and that's OK. The schedule coming up after the Falcons is tough, and there is a good chance we need to win at least 4/5 of the remaining games to clinch the number 1 seed (incl. the Rams game as a win)

"Hugely concerned" seems to be the new catchphrase around here when mentioning Darnold. sigh...
Well I'm "Hugely concerned" with all the "Hugely concerned" fans being "hugely concerned" about Darnold.
And that's a concern. View attachment 76164
(I'm not too concerned, though. Sam will be fine and so will this team. This was a statement win)

The Seahawks' situation in the NFC is indeed starting to resemble the Mariners' situation in the AL - yeah, they might win, but that doesn't mean much this year. The defense played lights out as usual, but we have to consider that we were going up perhaps the worst starting quarterback in the league. That guy was off target all game, made some horrible mistakes not the least of which was that pick 6 he gave up that resulted in at least a 10-point swing.
On offense, Sam had his 3rd straight mediocre game. Not as bad as the Rams game, but still not close to the way he's been playing in the first 2/3's of the season. He didn't get much help from the offensive line and a running game that's inconsistent at best.
If I were looking at our team in a vacuum, in other words, without considering any other team's performance, I'd be hugely concerned. But no one else in the NFC is looking any better. The Rams lost to an inferior team and the Niners looked very mediocre against a far inferior opponent. The Bears showed that they have a very good defense, but Caleb Williams and the offense didn't impress me.
Taking everything into consideration, I'm optimistic. We control our own destiny as far as our division is concerned, and we're tied with the Rams and Bears for the best record in the NFC. You have to figure that the Bears will lose at least one of their remaining games as they have the Packers, Lions, and Niners left on their schedule. But our offense is going to have to come to the party if we are to make any noise in the playoffs.

Pete's defense would have given him and their Oline easy reads all day, the offense would have tried to force bad playsThe QB left many plays on the table yday. Lol what team has looked like a superbowl caliber team the entire season? The Rams were the closest and they lost today. This team isn't perfect but they are great enough to beat anyone.
I guess the patriots too but they also lost to the raiders in the beginning of the season.
I would laugh because F*ck the Patriots. This weekend/season would only be fitting if the Patriots lost to the Giants tonight.
We can’t afford to drop either game at this point. I don’t see us losing either but need to improve on one side of the ball. The Colts look beatable.
I think we take the next two (Falcons and Colts)
One of the old caveats is You have to win the games you're supposed to win. Sure, the betting line isn't the end all be all of football, but when you're favored there's usually a reason beyond how pretty the unis are.We can’t afford to drop either game at this point. Absolutely. Any given Sunday and all that. Even with one loss (and beating the Rams) we don’t win the tie break if Rams win all other games. So it’s serious “playoff” mentality from here on out.One of the old caveats is You have to win the games you're supposed to win.
