Its not about emotions or feelings for Billionaires, and it's not always about profit, however EGO will almost always play some role.

To say it's completely out of the question is to tell someone to spend Billions of dollars on a company, but don't you dare touch it...that idea is just not realistic.

Imagine you buy the Seahawks, don't you think a family member would say "You should give me the job of ordering the Jerseys" or some small job?

The next owner will have TONS of close friends, family and business associates asking for jobs... including the GM position.

Thankfully, the GM is like a CEO to a corporatation and the selection of a CEO isn't a gift given to a first cousin, the position will make or break a company.

When Googling the chances of a change at GM with a new owner...it's very possible. One option on the table and the most likely to happen is to let JS's current contract be fulfilled and see how the new ownership and JS mesh.

To answer the question: Profit is an automatic in the NFL, so that's not the issue, it's Super Bowl wins and JS has enough to make him valuable.

3 firsts is the probable answer, if there is a trade.

While on the surface it seems like a stupid question, the fact remains, that we have no idea what the team will look like under new ownership. Jody was so damn smart to realize that in order for the team to get back to the top, she had to move on from Pete and let John be the dude. I don't know how many owners or potential owners would have done that.

So.. new owner(s) come in, John isn't vibing and wants to move on and we could be talking draft picks at that point. It would be awful to think it could come to that, but we all have to prepare for the reality that new ownership is going to mean changes.

Answering the thread question, would I make the trade: No. Draft capital doesn't win SuperBowls unless they're turned into game-changing players. That requires a GM to do it. We currently have the best on the planet so I'd vote to keep it that way. It's as hard to find a great GM as it is to find a SB caliber QB and JS has found 2 QBs to win 2 SBs for relatively cheap.

Answering the implied thread question, will a new owner trade JS: I'd guess not, but eventually everyone gets kicked to the curb and there's no guarantee a new owner will think as highly of JS as me (spoiler: I'm not one of the potential buyers).

To me there are 2 potential paths. New Owner (N.O.) and JS find common ground and continue winning or N.O. feels like they're the 2nd coming of JJones/AlDavis...and ruin the good thing going which forces JS out.

A draft with 11 picks would be a good time to attract a GM if there is a change coming. PC/JSs first draft had two 1st rounders (Okung/Thomas) in the top 15 and 8 picks overall. It allowed them to "put their stamp" on the team quickly. I think all options are on the table at this point, ...just have to wait and see.

Hopefully the eventual new owner will have a hands off approach to the football side of operations with everything from John on down.
I'm sure the business/stadium side of the franchise could see some changes but it would be foolhardy to mess with our current team building, winning formula.

Wasn't Gruden the only guy traded?
In February 2002, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers traded an unprecedented package of four draft picks (2002/2003 first-rounders, 2002/2004 second-rounders) and 8 millions.

John Schneider has been higher trade value than Gruden.

It all depends, two 1st? two 2nd? I am gonna invoke my no-trade clause for anything less.
Love it!!!

A JS trade would be crazy though. Ownership would be crazy but…you really never ever know.

A potential reality that causes knots in my stomach.

This “sale” could go so badly.
I can’t imagine the purgatory that is possible.

Been a really good run, hopefully the new crew keeps it going.

Dude, what you smokin'?
Right? My mind can’t comprehend that trade. Why would you even fathom getting rid of the most successful GM in Seattle Sports history for a few draft pick scrubs.

Jody et al would never dream of selling to an ownership group that shortsighted.
