Why didn’t the Seahawks cut Anthony Bradford?

I'm looking forward to a possible 22 personnel combination that includes Anthony Bradford, Abraham Lucas, Robbie Ouzts and Emanuel Wilson all on the field at the same time. Could be brutal.

Edit: Anthony Bradford received a 2025 performance bonus of $1,098,394 ...... suggesting that he outperformed last season's contract amount.

One thing that hasn't been mentioned yet, we do have a shiny new toy in Beau Stephens that has stud written all over him. Another reason I don't worry about RG much. ;)

True that, yet somehow I suspect Stephens will be a backup for his first year. Not even sure he will even be the primary backup. Still the pool at G is getting deeper.

Then perhaps we may see a young talent develop. I think Bradford will be a whole lot better than we have seen from him so far. He may even play well enough to attract a comp free his contract I up.

You believe Zabel is overrated?
Yes. That’s not to say he’s not a phenomenal player.

People seem to grade him as a 90% to 95% player. I think he more in the 80% to 85% range, even when allowing for his lack of NFL experience.

That’s still a heck of a good score, and he has promise to become elite, but people talk as if he is already elite, which he isn’t.

There is at least one play on those popular Bradford “flub” reels from last year that was on Zabel, not Bradford.

O-Line is one of those positions where it's really easy to make a highlight video that makes a player appear to be a fool, when you have no idea what their assignment was or who else screwed the pooch.

Bradford was an absolute machine in run-blocking 2nd half of the season and a big reason for both Charbs & Walkers production. Cutting him is just a fan fantasy that has no basis in reality

Guess maybe it’s a matter of perspective.
Personally I don’t see folks trying to crown him.
More like heavy optimism for his future.

Because with him as part of their OL, they successfully won 10 games in a row (including playoffs) to finish out the season, win number 10 being SB LX.

If Coach Mike likes him enough to keep him there, good enough for me. He's not one to hesitate to move on from a guy.

You couldn't be more wrong on Zable, but that's ok. Ray Roberts is VERY high on him. Same with Stink.
I'm just more apt to accept the opinion of guys who played the position in the NFL. And guys would wouldn't hesitate to call out a guy if he wasn't up to par.

Bradford would be the perfect guard if he can contain a little better in pass pro. The whiffs are missed assignments but as it holds true with many linemen, they actually improve with age instead of regress. He should be fine this year

Right, I was going to bring up Pete and his tendency to hold on to
way too many players for whatever reason(s) that didn't pan out.
Mac and John are nothing like Pete, sure there may be one or two
but I can't think of a name, usually they just cut bait quick.
Jake bobo…

His bad plays are still awful and drive killers and potential RB and QB killers. He still has SO MUCH TO fix. Getting beat so often can't happen. Getting beat is ok, getting beat fast sucks. Yakety Yak still needs to be played when he gets lost. The glazing by podcasters who like him has really helped his image.

The only thing I know about Zabel, cause I don’t study, is I barely notice him, cause you’re not supposed to

Man watching some highlights, his eyes and feet gotta speed up sometimes. He’s just not that quick. But if he gets his hands on a guy they go flying

Aros has always had a soft spot for struggling offensive lineman. I remember when he went off about Chris Gray. It's kind of heartwarming.

I didn't like either of them. Bradfailure can't get off the team fast enough as far as I am concerned. It's painful to watch.

Bradfailure?? That's even worse than some of my nicknames. And that's saying something.
He's a SUPER BOWL CHAMPION. And more importantly, Coach Mike clearly believes in the guy. IF he sucked as bad as people claim, he wouldn't be on that line. That's not how John and Mike run things.
