Who's the most underrated Seahawk on this board?

A few others: Alan Branch, Darrell Bevell, Paul McQuistan, John Moffitt, and Sidney Rice.

Branch adds more to the pass rush than he's given credit for and is just a dependable, all around DL player that can play 3 spots on our line. Bevell has done a good job calling a balanced game and has shown a lot of flexibility and ingenuity this season. His style suits Wilson well. I was impressed with him last year when he made T-jack look like a "good" QB (in the Alex Smith sense) during the final 8 games. If you can make T-Jack look decent you obviously have something going for you.

McQuistan is a good pass blocker and a good run blocker. Probably the 3rd most dependable member of our line. Never gets praised for it, and many people even think guard is a problem area. It's not. John Moffitt is kind of the same story- not flashy but dependable and is good for a few key run blocks every game. Sidney Rice would have just finished a 1000 yard season if the team had utilized Wilson sooner and/or if the team hadn't finished with the NFL's lowest pass rate. He is a true #1 in my opinion. He's not ultra elite, but a majority of NFL rosters do not boast a better receiver than Rice. I think some of us have forgotten how good he is while others have begun to take him for granted.

Disagree with McCoy, I do not think he will be on our roster next year.

I'll agree with Bevell and add Bradley. It is too easy for NFL coordinators to become scapegoats.

Zach Miller......we got a taste of his receiving skills middle/late this season , will be a beast next .

Another vote for Miller. An excellent blocker and if you throw the ball near him he will catch it more often than not. In the Redskin game that 1st down he got started the come back. Think back to Carlson and how often he dropped big passes to really appreciate Miller

It's Zach Miller and it's not even close IMO. He is a guy that is still young (just turned 27 in December), was a Pro Bowler in Oakland with 3 seasons catching 60+ balls, and is like another OT out there blocking. He has tremendous hands and does all the "little things" to help the team win ball games. Plus, he's obviously a tough SOB willing to put himself on the line for the good of the team. He was criminally underutilized in his first season here due to the problems in pass blocking we had but he never complained. I hope he's a Seahawk for 10 more years. He's the type of glue guy that every great team needs. He's reliable and can be counted on. In short, he can be our Jay Novacek or Brent Jones.

Great post. This sums up my thoughts perfectly. I'm perfectly OK with adding another, more athletic, TE in the draft, but Miller has got to stay. I'm just not confident in McCoy to make a play in the clutch.

Breno Giacomini, he was in the dog house for the first few weeks of the season. Then he doesn't even get mentioned hardly. When you don't talk about a lineman that means he's doing his job.

#54 Wagner... A unheralded rookie coming out of Utah State to come in here and take the MLB role as a rookie with well over 100 tackles. He doesnt get a lot of press yet was the quiet leader of our defense.

Brandon Mebane. Not super flashy, gets double-teamed pretty consistently, all the coaches raved about his play all year, and yet there were hardly any threads where his play came up.

Paul McQuistan. Wasn't dominant or flashy but was very solid and consistent on the oline this year after being swapped back and forth between LG and RG.

McQuistan...he's not flashy. Doesn't jump off the screen but he's just all-around solid. Plus, Cable just said he's the glue that holds that line together.

This. McQuistan has filled in all over the line and he has always played more than adequate when he has had to.

You don't hear his name AT ALL on game days when he is in the lineup, and that is a good thing for a backup O-lineman who plays as much as he does.

My choices are

Max Unger. I remember his first couple of years. People on this board were writing him off. He has not only turned about to be solid but also one of the top centers in the league.

Michael Robinson. A solid FB and a team leader. Never mentioned among the Leaches, et all but deserves recognition for the job he's doing.

Brandon Mebane. All this guy does is play hard and do the dirty work inside. His pass rush skills have improved and he's a solid run-stuffer. I wish they had more players like Mebane in the middle.

These are guys that are hard to notice (not necessary the glory positions) during the games but when they are not in there, you seem to notice their importance.
