No coach would have us at 6-0. Even if the defense was given the play of the other team they wouldn’t be undefeated.Honestly???
Pick your guy. Campbell? McVay? Shanny? Carroll? Hell, let’s pick it up a notch. Landry? Shula? Belichick?
The answer is NONE.
Here is my pre coffee rant.
We lost to one team we should have beat. Every effin team in every effin season loses a game they should have won. There is a reason two teams in 52 years have survived a regular season unscathed. TWO! Both loaded with HOF’s. In 2013 we lost to the Arizona Cardinals at home in week 16 before winning a Super Bowl 43-8.
Yeah, we took a big shit against the Giants. Horrible offensive strategy to abandon the run by a first year staff. Oh well, they were accountable and they fixed it.
The other two teams we lost to are the consensus two best teams in the NFC. I know we hate the Niners, but c’mon, they are stacked. They have started out poorly a few times in the recent past but always end up on a deep SB run. The Lions just beat the piss out of the Cowboys and Goff is having another stellar season.
My point.
Mac has done absolutely nothing to warrant suspicion that he is not the right man for the job. He’s smart. He’s accountable. He’s tough. He also inherited someone else’s defense and is doing the best he can do with very limited talent at the LB position. Mario Andretti himself wouldn’t win a lot of races if he is forced to drive a Camry.
Give him the keys. Give him time to build his program. If he fails, then he fails. I just don’t think he will. This post is for the people already saying he has. Simply because he lost one game he should have won followed by two competitive L’s against superior opponents. All this preceded by three straight wins.
Mac is going to good things with the Seahawks. Just give it some time grasshoppers.
He also lost to MM this year so….Payton has a Denver team decimated by bad trades and giant cap hits - winning with a rookie QB.
Maybe not 6-0 but 5-1 isn't a crazy ask.
He did. In one of that rookie QB's first games. He also lost to MM this year so….
So we are going to give the rookie QB passes why he develops but not the rookie head coach? I have seen comparisons drawn to Mora, while omitting that it wasn't Mora's first time on the carousel. MM has a lot he needs to figure out, no doubt. He seems to have the personality that is conducive to getting there along a lot of skill and experience designing defensive schemes in the NFL. If things are still looking like this in 2026 OR we are not seeing him try different things to figure it out, then I will start to be on the "lets talk about MM being a failure" bandwagon. He did.
He did. In one of that rookie QB's first games.
Point is they are improving AND have better/more reasons for excuses than us.
Would you rather be a fan of Denver or Seattle right now? Denver looks to have a much brighter future over the next few years.
