Little temperature check. I'd prefer to avoid sarcastic votes and responses if possible.

Having experienced the heat in week 2 first-hand and watched the game a couple of times, I'm not very concerned. I hope that our linebackers can get back to a place where they're doing better in coverage but I came away feeling like Rivers was just that good this past weekend.

Week 1 left me feeling like our offense will win some games for us if the defense can't shut teams down and their week 2 performance hasn't changed my mind.

I think the team learns from the loss and enters week 3 on a mission. My vote: win some, lose some, not concerned.

opening the season against three playoff teams is tough for anyone.

I was hoping to be 2-1 at the least by the bye and that is still achievable.

In any season you hope to win your home games and then win half your road games. This is still very much doable. If your'e going to lose any game, lose a road game to the AFC. We did this last year in Indy.

San Francisco losing at home in their stadium opening to an NFC team is a much bigger blow to them than this loss was for us.

I picked Super Bowl bound. Until the defense playing like that becomes a trend, its just an aberration, possibly caused by the heat. We won't play another game that hot this year. A little humble pie can go a long ways toward refocusing a team like Hawks.

i think they will remember alot of our linbackers were out alot of training camp and preseason games with injurys or off season surgury. i think they will find there stride again soon.

Too many chaotic elements in the SD game to extrapolate much. The heat. Rivers and Gates having the game of their lives in spite of decent coverage and pressure. SD recovering every single potential turnover.

My opinion hasn't really changed. The offense still looked very good. Interior pressure and corner depth remain concerns, which could impact 3rd downs. Remember, we weren't great at 3rd down stops in 2012 when Jason Jones (rushing DT) went down and Trufant was playing nickel. Really hope to see guys like Hill, Marsh and Burley get ramped up pretty quickly. It'll make a big difference. On first impression, Burley looked pretty solid.

Even in losses, this team still looks elite IMO. SD had to pitch basically a flawless check-down game tailored to Seattle in order to win, and they were still in threat to lose in the final 3 minutes. Other teams aren't going to be able to pull that off.

On to the next.

I don't see the heat as an excuse but it was a factor.

Unfortunately a I think the preseason demolision supported by dominating the Pack set us up for a trap game. No reason to think we needed to put forth our best effort. We got this thing in the bag. That's being extreme but you get the idea. Mix a less then important game with an opponent you believe you should dominate and throw in 120 degree on field temps and you have a recipe for a trap game.

Don't take anything from the Chargers. They knew what they had to do and that is exactly what they did. It was the perfect game plan and the perfect execution. They deserve credit. If not for a blown call that game could have looked even worse.

The kicker for me was the second half. How many times have we watched this play out where the first half looks close or even bad only for us to come out the second half and take over the game. This I think is where the heat really played a factor. We looked like our opponents ussually do. We looked slow and tired and already defeated. It was incredibly unlike this team at leats since Pete has been here.

I'm not wavering. I still think we are the best team in the NFL and last week will only serve as a wake up call.

Yeah it's only 2 games in, but I don't think we're as physical as we were last year.

Might get blasted for this opinion but I think we paid too much for Sherman and should have invested more on the interior d-line instead. Not seeing enough from the replacements we have, and run D doesn't look as dominate.

On offense Wilson continues to improve, but I'm starting to see an identity crisis. Are we still smash mouth? Or are we just trying to stay ahead of the curve with these new wrinkles (jet sweep, hurry up)? Okung has taken a step back, Britt is still learning, and he isn't as nasty as Giacomini was.

We have Percy, yes, but I'm not banking on him for all 16 games plus playoffs. Kearse and Baldwin are clutch but they don't really scare anyone. Haven't seen enough from Richardson, Norwood or Michael, and I would have felt much better if Rice and McCoy were still options for RW. And none of that matters if we can't pass protect.

Sounds like a glass-half-empty view, but I just don't see us being as dominate as last year. Maybe the game this weekend will change my mind, but I'm seeing a much closer contest than before.

I'm going to hold off on my opinion until Monday.

If we respond Sunday like I think we will, by getting pissed off and pounding the Broncos into dust, then I'm back on the this team should go far this year.

But if we let the Broncos come into our house and dictate the game like the Chargers did? Then it's time to worry.

I voted not sure. The reason is because the defense played so bad it made me think something systemically could be the problem. They were atrocious. And the Oline took a huge step back from the Green Bay game. I was not expecting a performance like that.

I still think we're one of the best teams if not the best in the league. So my vote is not concerned at all.

I believe the heat coupled with being on the road played a huge factor sunday. Also we didn't stick to our bread and butter and give lynch the ball. He finished with an average of 6 ypc.

We need to get back to our game plan and feed the beast. Also need to get percy more involved like he was in week 1. That's what we have him for.

I actually see a game like the GB game. Starting out close then the Hawks will slowly run away with it.

Well I live in SoCal and we are having record breaking heat as you know since you were at the game.

We are going back to the SB is my answer. Already talked enough about Sunday, it was a loss, so what? We scored 3 td's in 17 minutes, color me NOT WORRIED.

I am with you on this one. I came down there and was wearing fall weather clothes. I got on the bus to downtown and walked a mile after dragging two bags on wheels to Hooters for lunch. I lost weight. You could see I dont have much I could lose. Then at the game I lost some more. Dont worry...I am putting it back on as we speak. I have my cat on my lap. And she counts as weight. LOL
They had boards trying to keep the sun off them and the microwave effect of the uniforms. I recall it took me about 3-4 days to acclimatize me to Mississippi weather. And about the same for time and climate for Philippines. It is not easy. THis will affect you for a couple days...but I am sure they are doing just fine now. Thanks for the sip of "soda" Rob. Tastey stuff.

Glad you are ok Brother. You were looking a little drained right when you left for the stadium. That "soda" was strawberry puree with Vodka, and a LOT of ice, and it was PERFECT for that day.

I will post some pics in the road trip thread tomorrow.

Anybody worried about this team after game 2 in those conditions should probably just hop off the wagon
