Why would the Vikings trade an expensive player for another expensive player? When you're dumping expensive players, it's for draft picks or younger cheaper players with potential.

I don't see this happening. Minnesota will probably get a 3rd round comp pick for letting him walk in free agency so they will want at least that. We've already given our 3rd rounder to Minnesota as part of the Harvin trade and I just don't see Seattle trading a 2nd rounder for Jared Allen.

An adjacent lineman could kick the barstools and actually slow down the defensive player. That would be a huge improvement.

In the first case, nope. Allen is an elite pass rusher, but he isn't worth a second-rounder for a rental.

Now, if they will take a fourth, conditional third, sure.
