The only thing that I can think of that would make sense out of this is if we have a trade set up with another team to give away one of our big money guys. For example, Clem or Red to someone for an OL or WR. Only way it makes sense both cap wise and personnel wise.

Yes he does. All of our existing Leo's are sieves against the run, which last nights game proved once again. Allen is still a legit every-down player. Clemons and Avril are not.

Its been posted I wonder if we are setting up multiple moves. I would love to see Allen in Seattle and I have confidence that Carroll and Quinn know exactly what kind of players fits their system. But I bet we see a secondary move for some O line help...

I'd be a lot more excited if this were a tackle or guard we were talking about. And Allen has been around quite a while.

Still, if you can turn a 3rd round pick into 2 or 3 years of a beast out there I guess it's worth looking at? Although he's FA after this season so you still have to sign the guy, you can sign Bennett or Avril without giving up a pick and you still have Clemons, so it's not like you're not stocked at the position.

I've no problem with going all-in for a SB but this is a position we've already fixed up pretty dang well. Couldn't we find some team with a decent Olineman we could dangle a 3rd rounder at?
