What I don't want to see from our DBs again

The accusing and puzzled looks when they blow a coverage. I want them to be tighter than that. I know it's tough and they are passionate about their game, but they are supposed to be family, supposed to love each other and they need to act like it.

I hope to never see a blown coverage again, but that's impossible. What I hope to happen when we see it again is for the DBs to come together, take responsibility and support each other.

Something like "We missed that one but I got your back and you got mine, we'll get the next one!" Would be more appropriate than what I saw Sunday. This is the Legion of Boom, not the Legion of Boys.

The reason you see that reaction is because they are tight. They are family. How many times have you heard them say how much they trust eachother. That play was a breakdown. Sherman trusted ET to be there, tried to let him know before the snap, but he didn't get there. They hold eachother accountable and expect more from eachother. Just my 2 Lincolns.

I think we sh*tcan this whole "Legion of boom" thing. It's gone to their heads. Such monikers are reserved for truly great groups like the Steel curtain, Killer Bs and Purple people eaters. This is supposed to be the "best secondary in football". This group is very, very good when giving their all, but they have also cost us games (Miami, Atl, Indy, to name a few) and possibly a SB (if we beat Miami we win the NFCW). I think they're too young to be bestowed any title other than Seattle secondary. Less talk, more solid play. Then they will be more deserving of the limelight, IMO.

So the elite D's never have bad games? They never give up TD's...ever? This board is hilarious

I love how you pull that out of a paragraph that says nothing about touchdowns...

And what about the fans. The 12th man. Part of the Team. Setting records and all that. We just lost on the road to a definite playoff team with a QB that's supposed to be once in a decade. Our OLine is in shreds, out starting TE was out, and Percy Harvin hasn't even stepped on the field.

On top of that, there were some very questionable calls and we still barely lost and had a great chance at the end of the game.

If you hold the Legion of Boom to that standard, what about the 12th man? Where is the "We missed that one, but we got your back and you have ours and we'll go win the next one."

Our team drops one game on the road (10am start no less) and this board falls apart, starts shredding players and coaches.

Our players constantly reference the 12th man like we are a part of the team, they constantly have our back while other teams and fans try and rip on us. Then we turn on them like a pack of rabid dogs after a loss that we almost pulled out in the last couple minutes.

I'm proud of our team. I'm proud of the way they played despite the odds. I don't care if they are brash, I don't care if they talk smack. More often than not, they back it up. Go Hawks!

BTW, my frustration isn't in particularly with your post, it's a lot of posts that I've read this week and this post just inspired me to state how I feel. Sorry if it comes out personal, I'm just proud of our team.

I almost agree with this 100%. It needs to be all about football. Let everyone else say how great you are and just be it.

That's exactly what I am saying...we should never give up a TD. LOL!?!

I am not surprised you're enamored with this whole "Legion of boom" thing. It is currently doing little for me and I'm sorry if you bought the T-shirt. Who have they "boomed" this year?

My guess is you're one of the ones wanting the WRs to be called "The legion of zoom" too, right? Hilarious! We need to actually accomplish something before anointing these guys as super heroes. YMMV.

Thank you. This is football, not romper room. And now we are seeing the "LOB" (basically) pointing fingers at each other. This is how it all unravels. Just play good, hard, solid football and props will come your way. Enough of the marketing ploys, this is about Seattle Seahawk football. Period.

LOB T-shirt and poster sales is "business". Winning a SB would be "fun".

Any questions?

I like the name, but they bring it up way too much without really having done anything profound. Okay, the names out there, now earn how constantly it's brought up. And don't be the ones to bring it up all the time.

I've had 30 years of fun being a Seahawks fan, and never won a Super Bowl.

I agree. The swagger is probably part of what motivates them. Just a bad game ( that they still almost won)

I feel the same. I don't have a problem with any of it...as long as the team doesn't get caught up in it and start thinking they're better than they are and consequently not giving their all. See yesterday. I just think they need to tone it down a bit.

Here we go: As I type this, watching MNF, they just showed Earl whiff on a tackle. Sherman had already stopped on the play, believing Earl would save the TD on his own. That's ugly enough, but then you see Sherman run to Earl with a "Man, how did you miss that tackle"? type body language. I don't like it.

Further...who is this LOB thing really serving? Pretty much just the players. It's a tool that they will surely use against us come contract time. What fun!

It's also sorta unfair to the other groups of players. What about the D line...shouldn't they also have such privilege? Creating segregation among the troops is never a good idea. The DBs are no better, or worse, than this crap O-line. Not if this is truly a team.

If you read any of my posts yesterday, you will see I am having fun and supporting this team whether winning or losing. But really, JSEA, is this LOB thing really fun? I mean, it's fun (to me) when we're crushing opponents and snatching balls from the sky, but it's less fun when they are playing so-so football. That's why my suggestion that we tone it down a bit until we've actually accomplished something. The LOB got us eliminated in Atlanta last year. How much fun was that?

Anyway, I respect that you like this LOB thing. Please respect that I do not.

I don't like it or dislike it. The knickname has no impact on me. Just like the knickname has no impact on whether we win football games or not.

I hate the name Legion of Boom. The propensity for this board to nickname EVERYTHING drives me crazy.

You know what, though? The players - you know, the guys who matter - bought in. They love it, it's their identity, and it has even in a small part, increased the bond that the 4+ guys feel for each other. What if the moniker gives them a boost of confidence? You see what confidence can do for a player (see R. Sherman) and what lack of confidence can do (see M. Shaub, Kelly Jennings).

Regardless of whether anyone feels the nickname is "earned" or whether or not we've "boomed" anyone - it's worth a whole lot more than the average nickname that any stupid ass on this board or any place assigns to a player or a group.
