This is what I am expecting
I could just as easily talk about people trying to find any reason to exaggerate his accomplishments and brush over anything negative.
Those of us who are pessimistic about him are including his Minnesota days. He was okay, had a better supporting cast than he does now. Nothing special.true but you won't find that from me.
I am already aware of his warts.
But there comes a time where people need to move the *** on from his Jets/Panthers days and focus on what happened most recently and NOW.
That's what annoys me.

I never understood the thought of “reaching” for a player. If you like that player, chances are, at least one or two other teams also like that player as well. The consensus draft boards have Booker as the top IOL going around 25 followed by Zabel at around 35 and Jackson at around 40. Taking one of those at 18 seems to be a bit of a reach, while we could trade down given the pickes we currently have I think the best option is to trade up from 50 (or 52) into the early 2nd round to get one of those three.
1. Tre Harris - 5.42
2. Jalen Royals - 3.10
3. Tetairoa McMillan - 3.06
4. Kyle Williams - 2.95
5. Jayden Higgins - 2.77
6. Jaylin Noel - 2.73
7. Emeka Egbuka - 2.63
8. Xavier Restrepo - 2.60
9. Jack Bech - 2.52
10. Luther Burden - 2.47
11. Tai Felton - 2.45
12. Matthew Golden - 2.29
13. Savion Williams - 2.15
14. Elic Ayomanor - 2.09
15. Isaiah Bond - 1.94
I think you have unrealistic expectations if you see Cooper Kupp, JSN, and Noah Fant performing like Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, and TJ Hockenson. What annoys me are those who are "Yeah BUT...." about Darnold.
It's never about "Well..he has improved as a QB"
It's "OH! When is he going to revert back into the 'Real' Sam Darnold and see ghosts" as if the 14 games he helped win was some Fake Sam Darnold.
It's absolutely infuriating.
And you're saying he was "Okay"?
14-3 is okay???
Wow....do YOU have some unrealistic expectations..![]()
We are in desperate need of IOL other teams less so. At 18 the best IOL might be the 12th BPA so unless another team really like him more than everyone else they are very likely to be around for quite a few more picks.I never understood the thought of “reaching” for a player. If you like that player, chances are, at least one or two other teams also like that player as well.
But, you would rather risk and wait until later and then draft them?? That’s a dangerous game you are playing and you would lose out on that player if they get selected before you can pick again.
I would rather draft them when I can than lose them because I thought I can draft them later.
I believe all teams have prospects that believe will be available when they draft, at least, they have a perceived “range” of there they will be drafted and if they stray away from that even just a little, they are likely gone.
They say don’t draft for need but for best available, in terms of depth wise, if you have skilled players already and you draft the same position that rookie will play, that rookie may not see the field enough to warrant that draft pick. Maybe down the road, sure, but first rounders, I want them to see the field immediately and pay immediate dividends.
Seattles need for talented offensive lineman has been a pressing need for so long—I can’t understand why it’s not a “want” for Schneider at this point.
His strategy and plans have not faired well as Seattle is consistently ranked well below the average talent for NFL offensive line.
This guy would rather work his magic with castoffs and try to make chicken salad out of chicken shit and for the longest time now.
You are definitely in the 12th dimension if you think there will be many decent OLine at 50 & below. John's had his druthers with Murphy & Spoon, its past time to fix this.If we went DB, WR, LB, DL, QB at#18, it's fine and hopefully an elite talent.
50-137 would be the ideal spot to add assets to the OL unless we need a T.
I fully expect Schneider to be fired if the OL is bad enough that it derails the offense. If darnold is a bust because of poor OL then there is really no choice but to fire Schneider. Is JS feeling the pressure? Is MM accountable somehow? Will the players start a mutiny? Will the 12's burn the stadium down?
Seriously, if a Guard isn't taken with the first pick we have, is it time for JS to get the boot? They have been signing JAGs all around to fill some holes so the OL should be priority in the draft. Surely they are going to draft interior linemen with the first few picks,,,,,right?
Coaching and supporting cast goes a long way which is why this draft is crucial that JS hits out of the park. Those of us who are pessimistic about him are including his Minnesota days. He was okay, had a better supporting cast than he does now. Nothing special.
Nothing wrong with developing in house but you need to use higher picks to change the current trajectory of the OL. Need a stud to anchor the interior which is most teams do by having free agents or mid to lower drafted guards round out their respective rosters.Pretty much this…
Field Gulls Article
New O-Coordinator. Can just fire Kubiak at the end and skate by with a just over .500 record.
Rinse…repeat.
Most QBs don’t play well when under pressure and this includes Mahomes, Minnesota had big problems with their O line at the end of the year, Kevin O ‘ Connell wasn’t doing Darnold any favors by still calling down field passing with less runs sounds like what Seattle didSam Darnold is not a very good QB when he's under pressure. He also had a great coach for a QB and major weapons to throw to last year in Minny. At this point in time, this coming season is not looking good for us, even with a favorable schedule. The Rams will likely win the division, and I'm not so sure that second place in the division is going to be easy to come by. And with teams like the Commanders, Packers, Vikings, Bears battling for those three remaining playoff spots, the NFC West may well only put the division winner in the playoffs.
I don’t see trading back if a player drafted doesn’t make the team than it’s a waste of a draft pick and the Seahawks presently have 10 draft picks. A good thought exercise would be if they draft 10 players what 10 players presently on the roster don’t make the teamMy sense... just a guess, really... is John is going to do one of two things with #18...
1) he'll either pick a player that Mac pounds the table for... drafting an impact player on the defensive side of the ball be it Edge, Dline, LB or DB... or
2) he'll trade out of #18, picking up more draft capital by moving down to the mid-20s... and drafting the best Offensive lineman still available.
