What can we get for Matt Flynn?

I am guessing a 4th or 5th rounder.

There are a lot of teams who need a QB. The draft is thin on QBs and I am not sure what is out there in the FA market other than Michael Vick.

In the trade market there is Alex Smith.

The 5-0
Smith should be a team's first option and Flynn thereafter. IMO, there's not a QB in this draft as good as either. Further, IMO, there's not a QB in this class that will ever be. With that said, it's a sellers market right now and I am confident Schnieder will get us max value for him...should we choose to move him. The poster above insinuates Flynn will bring less than CBJ. I would take that bet in a second. Let's not forget, just as guys make huge errors over pretty women, teams do the same with QBs. I offer you the Oakland Raiders and Carson Palmer as evidence.

Am I the only one that is ecstatic that we have a good backup QB? The way Russell plays puts him in the line of fire and we need a decent backup.

No you're not; one bad hit and Russell could be out of commission, what then? Keep Flynn!

I agree it's a nice luxury but we also need a decent pass rush. Decent pass rush is more than a luxury, its a necessity. Matt Ryan was not touched today. The extra pick or picks we could get could be greatly needed. If there are no takers, keep our excellent backup. If someone gives a solid offer, take it.

I think if most people answered honestly, almost all would say they are extremely happy to have a player like Flynn as a backup. It's the contract that he has which raises questions to rather his value as a backup is worth keeping him and then, secondary, what picks can we get even if we wanted to trade him.

I've seen a few conflicting numbers on what his actual Cap hit would be if he does stay with the team, so I'm still waiting on the actual figures before I lean one way or the other.
