Hawks fan since day 1. My dad brought a 12th man stuffed animal to me at the hospital the day I was born. The rest is history.

And we will win. We will win big. And it will be glorious.

Ok, being honest.

Longtime fan (since '76), and I'm in-between; a bit nervous but not full on worry. Nor am I certain of victory.

The reasons being the early start, how HOT it will be, first game always has a 'rust' factor, and frankly, I think Carolina can be tough to 'get up' for. I'd be less concerned if it were a more formidable opponent (despite their strong finish last season). Smacks of a trap game.

Reasons to feel good? Seahawks manpower and talent, plain and simple, should overwhelm the Panthers in the end. That, and I still don't believe in Cam's mental game, and I DO believe in RW's.

We are going to win and it's not even going to be close.

Been a fan since I was a kid, I'm 32 now, I guess that counts as longtime fan.

Diehard since inception and honestly I'm somewhere in between. I think the humidity and heat mixed with our starters having yet to play a full 4 quarters is going to have a HUGE effect, especially on defense. Add into it that the Panthers are going to be "jacked and pumped" to try to knock the national media's sexy Super Bowl pick down a few pegs...Yeah, I'm nervous.

But like LD says, I think we have a good chance in the end to pull through from talent and mental game.

Been a fan since I was born, and like my father and his father before him, I bleed blue and green. The first half of the Panthers game will be close. Something like 10-3. Then we will stream roll them in the second half.

I am a longtime diehard Hawks fan, with a hint of malaise and apathy during the Ken Behring years while I was trying to "find myself" through this crazy thing we call life. I then got married, had kids and re-committed myself to the Church of Hawkology, even making it to level OT IV of the Thetan hierarchy of Seahawk enlightenment. But after six months of being dragged out into the desert in a potato sack and having my head shaved everytime I wanted to buy a latte at Starbucks or outwardly show emotion, I ran away to Canada and pretended to like hockey to fit in.

I moved back in 2005, and hit the Hawk Kool Aid hard. Some would say too hard. I won't name names, but her name rhymes with Mrs. Bargent Margent. Now I can happily say I've found the perfect center of fandome balance........somewhere between curling up in the fetal position on the floor and switching the light switch on and off for hours after a loss, and spending all of my kid's college money on Super Bowl tickets after each win and punching people in the face for not saying "Go Hawks" after every sentence.

Wait, what was the question?

Pretty much sums up how I'm feeling right now. I have lots of confidence in this team from top to bottom. I do believe we will win, but no matter how confident I try to be, the closer game day gets, the more nervous I become. It's just that mixture of confidence and nervousness each week that keeps me addicted to this game.

Even the times when we were horrible and I thought we'd win each week, the thought of pulling out an upset crept in each week and makes the games more exciting.

Week 1 road games are always tough. Regardless the team, most teams and their fans get up for their home opener. Carolina isn't a bad team at all. They don't have the best record under Rivera and Cam, but almost all of their losses are usually really close. This is gonna be a nail biter in my opinion. Would love to see us roll. But am fully prepared to be driving to work at noon, sweating bullets listening to the end of the game on the radio.

Go Hawks.

I believe we will beat the Panthers...but I haven't been impressed with our O-Line or our pass rush. So I'm in between.

There's a reason they play the game...right?

Im shocked at this poll thus far. It doesn't seem to reflect the comments in the forum...then again...maybe the vocal majority is different from the voters.

Ugly media influences and the zebras with their ability to spoil a game is my only cause for nervousness. Game outcome has little to do with why I watch the game.

Longtime, somewhere in between.

I'm a big believer in the "Any Given Sunday" mantra. I think we're the better team on paper, but the game isn't played on paper. I don't think anything that happens in this game will necessarily be indicative of the type of team the Hawks end up being this year.

Fan since day one, i believe if the seahawks we know show up, we win this game, despite the D line problems, but the Miami game comes to mind, and that little splinter of nervousness is still there.

Question is, which D will show up, Will our O start out slow like last year and have to come from behind, Will Quinn go to a soft zone if we have the lead late like Bradley did, will the offense mix it up more and try to keep Carolina off balance. lot of questions with no answers as of yet so yes i think we win, but i am a bit nervous.
