Waiting for our beloved Tri-City Americans to face off against the Penticton Vees and drinking a local IPA. (Yes, that's pink ice you see. Don't ask.)

I'm a resident of the Tri-Cities, too, and although I'm not a hockey fan, I once went to a game on a comp. After looking at the rosters, I came to the conclusion that the team nickname "Americans" had to be one of the most oxymoronic names/mascots I've ever seen: Every single player on the Tri-Cities roster was a Canadian.

Just woke up... drinking coffee and thinking about the Superbowl 'n Pool Party that I'm hosting today... Pool, as in billiards. I have about 15-20 pool players and their g/fs coming over to hit balls and watch the game together here at my house. Should be a LOT of fun! Good times... great memories!

Funny you mention that; I recently looked up a couple players on the roster and was floored that all but like 2 guys are Canadian. I think you could make a strong argument that we should play both national anthems at every game.

I wouldn't mind it if they played the Canadian national anthem at Seahawks games, too. There's a ton of 12's that live in Canada, we have marketing rights in the country, a 12 North Bar alliance, et al. It would be a great way to recognize our friendship with them. They are very much a part of the 12's. At the very least, they could have a game dedicated to our fans in Canada.

Nice of you to say but we are of essence..in a cold war state right now between the two countries. Doubt that ever will happen. Think they used to have a cdn fan game where they did do the anthem at one time.

We are about to walk to our local coffee shop, where all the employees had better be decked out. When we stop at Safeway for a newspaper, I can almost guarantee that all of their employees will be wearing their navy jerseys. But...right now I'm waiting for my girlfriend to do all those little things women have to do before they can get out the door.

I agree. I worked with the Canadian P-3 guys when I was in the service and it seemed like all the BC guys were Seahawk fans. My grandparents retired to Oroville back in the 90's and we met many BC'ers who were all basically a cross between Washingtonians and Alaskans. At least to me, I've always considered western Canadians fellow countrymen.

No..we shouldn't have the Canadian anthem played here just because some of them work here. That's some odd stuff.

Just cracked the first beer… prepping nachos… reading on here… stretching … and sending out flares and smoke signals that it’s best to leave me alone today. Basement is ready… upstairs, too. It’s just go time. I’m ready for all of it.

Either seahawks fans or bandwagon for teams like the chiefs pats etc when they win. I expect a few bandwagoners after we win today..

Skipped the waste management tournament today due to logistics. Watching Harry Potter. Got my cherry wheat chilled and may have to take a walk.
