Vegas had our over/under on wins at 7.5, which I thought was reasonable but would have laid down a considerable sum of money on 'over'. I predicted 9-10 wins, but might have to up that forecast.

Historically, I believe these are shoot outs. Not sure I see our D giving up much more than 20 points though.

I put $500 on the over for a $870 payout. Does anyone know if I win the bet before the season is over can I collect early?

Nicely done. Good question. You'd think you could get it as soon as they win their 8th game. Now I'm curious. Just mad I didn't put down some coin on the over.

I get why Vegas had us at 7.5, but as a non-homer fan I came away with a pretty confident 9-10 wins after reviewing our schedule. Now though, barring any catastrophic injuries, we're a minimum 10 win team.

You and me both. I was telling everybody in shouting distance to take the OVER this past Summer. Not that I was predicting 12+ wins necessarily but 7.5? Give me a break. Easy money.

Nope. No bets are payable until the regular season is completely over. Same with individual games. If you bet on an over/under of 40 points and the score is 50-30 going into the 4th quarter, you can't cash in until the game is over.

I felt the same way. I didn't think this roster was like the Panthers or Bears where a rebuild could take several years. Pete had some decent talent, but he couldn't get them over the hump.

But we all have to bridle ourselves by recognizing the fact that this is just Week 3, and we're in a weak part of our schedule. Denver and New England weren't expected to be competitive, and Miami lost their starting quarterback in the previous week.

I don't think our offense, particularly the offensive line, is good enough to take us deep into the playoffs. But this defense is going to keep us in a lot of games simply by keeping the scoring low.

Seems dumb, but thanks for the info.
Yeah, it sounds silly, but that's the way they've programmed the machines that scan the tickets. Although it wouldn't make a difference in the scenario you proposed, there's a chance that a game could get canceled and no official score or result would be posted, as we saw in the Bills/Bengals/Damar Hamlin game a couple years ago. There's also a chance that a team could be forced to forfeit a game or games they won.

100%. The O-line has been my #1 concern all offseason. Honestly, it goes back longer than that. If they can get this group to grow together, then maybe they collectively play better by the second half of the season, just have to wait and see. At least we're not alone, I think better than half of the league considers their offensive line play to be an area of major concern.

There might be some surprises with fire sales before the trade deadline.
