He and Johnson out hustled and were much more attacking of running lanes and taking on the first guys when tackled then Penny tonight.

If anything, it's an indication that he was on the bubble and they wanted to see if he should get one of the final roster spots. Or maybe they are doing him a favor and letting him get some tape out there for the rest of the league.

If they keep Penny and let Collins go, i'm going to be livid.

Yes. Something just looks wrong with Penny. Collins, on the other hand, has superior RB instincts and would pair very nicely with Carson. Between Penny and Collins, Penny would likely spend a lot more time on the sidelines. Why do that?

Penny just might not have enough "DAWG" in him for the NFL. I hope Pete is able to disregard where they drafted him if it comes down to him or a more hungry lower round player.

We played a bunch of people who are going to make the team. Geno, Eskridge, Dissly, Everett, Blair, Amadi, Lewis, Barton, Taylor, Robinson, Hyder, Penny, Swain, Green, and Collier all saw time in the first quarter. They looked good, but they should if we are counting on them to play key roles for us in real games against better talent.
Some of the young players on defense such as Barton, Green, Collier, Taylor and Robinson played most of the game. Taylor and Robinson rushing the passer in the 4th quarter should be able to generate pressure against the linemen that San Diego had out there.
