Gotta say I had a low bar for this season thinking 6-10 or worse but look at the Seahawks right now. Competitive still.

With that said and assuming the Cardinals can play like they haven't been drinking schnapps for 8 hours preceding kickoff and beat LA, I think the Rams will rip off the Seahawks collective heads and shit down their collective necks.

I've seen these types of posts where the Hawks record "exceeded expectations", but I thought I read somewhere that the reason PC got fired was because this team had enough potential to make it further than what they did last year and they wanted to go in a different direction with MM because they felt they should've had a better record? I apologize if the answer to this is posted elsewhere, I haven't seen it

Pete got fired for having a putrid defense year after year after year. I posted multiple times saying all I wanted to see what a significant improvement on defense, and I would be happy. I thought Grub would elevate this offense, but it hasn't happened. Still a step forward in my opinion. This defense is now legit and will get even better next year.

How much does the league want a divisional matchup in week eighteen where winner goes to playoffs, loser goes home. Maybe they will steer the game in the Cardinals favor
It's all about the money baby

200

But if the Cardinals can't do anything with those gifted calls, that's a different story

This thought 100% crossed my mind today. We shouldn’t be surprised if the Rams lose Saturday night.

My feeling was that the reason for the change was beyond just a 1 year thing as far as the team going further. I feel like the team had hit a ceiling with Pate's style. When I look at how our matchups with the Rams and Niners had been going recently it felt like the Hawks were being left behind.
I was ready for a potential step back for 1 year as the D learned a new scheme, growing pains under a new coach etc. I see a higher ceiling moving forward with MacDonald as coach now vs how I felt when the season ended last year.

I guess Week 18 will be a night game. If the Rams beat the Cardinals the Seahawks final game will be held on Saturday Night, (so the outcome will still matter at that point). If the Cardinals beat the Rams the Week 18 game will be on Sunday night since other games wouldn't impact the outcome. That's what i'd do if I had control of the schedule, but i'm a cynical SOB.

Replacing an entire coaching staff with a lot of folks new to their positions isn’t exactly the uncle Ben’s instant rice way to more wins. It’s going to take some time to get everyone on the same page.

Also known as, common sense.

JS said they underperformed last year.

That's exactly right. This team with the same cast next year and better, experienced coaching on the offense gets us 2 more wins.

John Schneider was pretty consistent in his assessment that the team underperformed last year. The fact that in 24 we made only minor changes speaks to that.

I'm not going to subscribe to the conspiracy theories. Motive is the easiest part of a crime to solve, and for some people, all that needs to exist to prove their theory is motive. Who cares about means and opportunity.

I would give the Cards about a 3 in 10 chance of winning tonight, but I'll still be watching until the end result is apparent.

My main source of hope for the Cards vs Rams is that the Card beat them earlier this year. But they didn't have a mile long injury list for that game like they do for this one.

I disagree. Our defense is much better now than it was for the first Rams game. We can keep it close with any team. The offense is the weak link.

It happens almost every year - the need to reset the simulation as it’s stale

The Cards not only beat the Rams, they destroyed them, 41-10. But that was in Week 2, so I don't know how much relevance that has to a Week 17 game.

But I do expect the Cards to pull out all the stops. They have a chance to go 9-8, which sounds a lot better than 7-10. From their perspective, it would be nice to end the season on a high note.
