We won. 5-1 I guess you're wrong given it obviously DOES cut it.

We shut them down. We out gained them, won TOP and had far more first downs. They only generated 223 yds total offense.

If not for one freak play, the final score is 23-6.

23-6 is indicative of the butt kicking we gave them.

People ragged on Wilson today. Yeah, must suck to go 23/31 257yds 8.3avg. and only rush for 61 yards.

People do realize that our QB alone passed for more yardage than Tennessee got TOTAL? That our team is 5-1 and looking good?

I find it surreal that I'm the guy who always nit picks everything our team does and here I am trying to pick people up after a WIN. WTF?

I agree for the most part with what you're saying ... BUT I also find all the fumbles in this game a bit disconcerting as well (especially since we were playing at home.) That and all the false starts by Carpenter totally drove me nuts. Pete Carroll has said repeatedly that no matter how big the margin of victory, he is never completely satisfied, as there are always things that need to be worked on. So, though I'm obviously extremely happy we won ... and I agree with nearly everything that you're saying ... I too am far from satisfied with the Hawks performance today. Pete Carroll is always preaching for his players to play championship football, so you know that neither the coaches nor the players are totally satisfied. Neither should we be totally satisfied IMO. The goal this year is to win the Super Bowl, so that level of excellence demands that we learn from our mistakes and work to correct them. That's my .02.

It's still amazing to me that Maragos single handedly cost us a 10 point swing. If we ended up losing by less than 10, I bet he would have been in hell until at least Thursday.

People who actually understand the game of football KNOW how valuable RW is to this team. His legs are covering up a lot of issues.
And Peyton Manning's quick release has covered up issues for years. Great QB's cover up issues. If you thought we could start two not tackles and not have issues you are crazy.

Winning, with issues. It's a really good thing. Most Super Bowl teams do it.

Jeremy lane made game costing mistakes?
I missed that, I thought he was pretty dope on special teams.
Its not like he head butted someone out of bounds, or was constantly beat on his coverage(Browner).

Agreed....he could have tapped the ball out of bounds on the coverage where he stepped on the endline...but that is pretty nitpicky since he was running full speed and barely stepped on the line...

True.

If Lynch's fumble doesn't get scooped into Wilson's arms in the most fortuitous way possible, things could have ended much worse for us.

"The better team won" yesterday, and we can all be thankful for that. If we have a game like that against a more evenly matched opponenent, we're probably not talking about kicking the other team's butts the next day...

Absolutely, AND, this wasn't a display of Super Bowl contender play today either.

This wasn't the Super Bowl. It was a regular season game. Show me a team that has won the superbowl that hasn't had a few sloppy games.

lot of glass is half empty folks around here, you'd think we're 1-5 instead of 5-1 and leading the division. We played our absolute sloppiest game of the season yesterday and still won against a team with a decent defense. why? because turns out with all the injuries and fumbles and fluke plays and blown coverages, we're still a pretty darn good team that scraps till the end. Don't know about you glass half empty folks, but i'm pretty happy being 5-1...

If we are going to play hypotheticals on flukey plays than I would counterpoint with the Maragos fumble. A linebacker (no matter how athletic) attempting a scoop and score isn't a given play. Russell Wilson may have made the tackle on him anyway. I think Maragos making a boneheaded play is just as unlikely as Brown blowing the scoop by batting it to wilson.

I already rewatched the game and removing the nerves of watching live, I feel like we did outplay the Titans much more than being given credit on here.

Thurmond could have (probably should have) had two more picks and one of those was an absolute give me (probably should have been a pick six if we are hypothetically giving that play to Brown on the scoop).

The Seahawks definitely played on another level from the Titans overall. Went over 400 offensive yards, held the Titans to 200+ offensive yards, gave up only six points on defense. They were clearly the better team yesterday in almost every facet except special teams and holding onto the football.

Well said, and very true. I just don't get the fascination with how a win looks. Who gives a rats....
They won the game, does it truly matter how it looks???? :229031_shrug:

And why no mention of a SURE Pick 6 dropped by Thurmond??? He easily scores on that one.

Oh wait, it was just mentioned, bad skimming 8)

By the way, Salish put it very well. RW having more passing yards than the entire Tennessee offense had in the game. That pretty much sums it up.

the 5 fumbles are a fluke that's not going to happen again.

the maragos fumble was just a horrible situation.

the rice fumble was all on rice and a bad decision to not protect the ball.

Just be thankful that we made these sorts of mistakes against an inferior opponent at home. We still won and still learned some valuable lessons. We will never again see maragos taking snaps for kicks. Rice will never leave the ball hanging out there like that again.

Shoot, Fitz went to throw the ball and it fell out of his hands in the red zone, and they land on it. Yet another fluke play that went their way.

So to sum up... We are good.

we want to be great.

not quite there... yet.

(seems alot of fans approach these games like coaches instead of spectators. good for internet talk, but did anyone NOT enjoy the game?)

Tell the truth Monday is for telling things as they see the tape. I am sure the coaches and the team have reviewed and talked about situations and things to fix. I thing its great that the fans are doing the same here by figuring out where the team can improve. Its nit about complaining as I see it, its more about expectations and night standards that were set and we believe in. Its great to be in this forum and hear all kinds of things. It just shows how passionate of Seahawks we are!
