This being the kid's 2nd knee, that hobbling may be as good as it's going to get. Andrews himself has a lot at stake here. He can only lose by clearing Griffin if he's not ready. I can't imagine that being the case. It's not like he's afraid of losing business and he made it clear last year that he won't be kissing ass for the sake of the Skins. He impressed me by basically calling Ratface a liar, in saying he never gave the OK for Griffin to continue after the initial injury. That had Shanahan looking like that snappy Tom tomato guy.
All said, I believe Griffin is physically healthy. Mentally? Only Griffin knows. I was being serious in stating he seems more hurt after bad plays than good. That shows that he's either exaggerating the injury, using it as an excuse, or he's not yet mentally there.
As far as Shanahan benching him...Shanahan answers to Snyder and Snyder is answering to the fans. Both are going off the advice of arguably the best surgeon on the planet. This is why I am so demonstrative in stating my belief that the knee is not as big of a factor as his lack of reps and pre-season action. I'm sure Andrews is monitoring the knee (constantly). IF he continues to believe Griffin is 100%, then they need to keep Griffin on the field, write this season off, while slapping our division rival with a fat high 1st. Thanks Skins.
