His knee is shot, all because of that shambles at the end of last season.

He's slow, he's tentative. He can't plant.

Three first round picks wasted because of the stupidity of the people running that team.

Unbelievable how after putting so many eggs in one basket, a basket that hinged largely on elite speed... and they refused to fix their field. Penny wise and pound foolish. RG3 had to be a top 5 QB out of the gate for the trade to pay off, and they have just permanently precluded him from ever being that.

Just because Adrian Peterson made an unbelievable recovery, doesn't mean every player will.

And correct me if I'm mistaken, but didn't Peterson get his injury mid season? Not in the playoffs.

The fact is this is a QB who was most dangerous out of the pocket, throwing on the run with the threat to pull it down at any moment. Now he's reduced to a middling pocket passer.

Well, unfortunately that's not how the "experts" will look at it. You know, those guys who run talk radio, ESPN, Fox, NBC, ... etc.
If you listen how they have been bashing Derrick Rose ...
I think RGIII is also afraid to lose his job to Cousins. You never want to give your backup a chance to take your job away from you.
I think RGIII is actually "forcing the hand of management" to play him. And Management doesn't want to "make the Franchise angry".

Unless you're completely uncoordinated, a slide poses zero risk to your knee.

I disagree there Seatown, I mean you're putting all your weight on the knee if it's the first thing to hit the deck. If you're boot gets caught going feet first. Not saying it's a high risk to injury a guy, but maybe it's in your head enough if you're RGIII that you prefer to go head first to the turf.

Except it's Griffin's right knee that's injured. On a proper "baseball" slide, he would be tucking his left leg underneath him while keeping his right leg straight. His right leg wouldn't even touch the ground until he stopped. Again, this is assuming he's been taught the correct way to slide.

Sliding on feild turf or anything unatural can injure if you grab it with your cleet or show, grass tears or rips away this stuff doesn't. Chances are slimmer but still there, you also have to look at when these guys slide, it's last second and many hardly get there ass on the ground before a defender is on top of them so a collision with another player is very possible jamming your knee. Again smaller chance but still possible.

Baseball slides are different then football slides with 250 pouinders right on top of you, in baseball you have the dirt infield, not so on a football field, also the joke of a slide in football is getting your ass on the ground feet first with as much forward progress as possible before a defender can take a shot at you, not a true slide if you can see what I'm trying to describe.

I'm talking about the specific play where he dove headfirst instead of sliding. There wasn't a defensive player within 5 yards of him. You're right that it can be difficult for a QB to execute a "proper" slide in an NFL game, but on that play it would've been easy for RGIII to do so.

Lol, not really. A slide poses more than one negative outcomes, sliding incorrectly and getting the knee your bending screwed up or getting a helmet to the lead leg with the knee sticking out.
