Was the playcalling suspect?

It wasn't pretty, but it's learning.

I wouldn't expect most of the players in the field today to be dressed for game 1.

What showed to me today is that a lot of plays were dependent on offensive players winning their blocks and players hitting the proper spots

That flat out didn't happen enough.

Even after Wright had that big run, on the next play they busted a little pocket of space with Russell leading into that area, Wright didn't like the look and bounced it wide for a loss - wouldn't have scored hitting the hole, but wild have at least got them to the 2

Also receivers weren't getting open

I think they had Milroe work on the things they've been working on - my only real concern with him, and it may be just in my mind, is that for someone with a strong arm, his passes seem to hang a bit in getting the target. I could see some routes getting jumped

Cruising the web and so many people hung-up on this game like it had some sort of meaningful impact on the regular season overall record. Wild.

Hoe do fans not realize this is an evaluation period for backups and fringe roster spots... This isn't new. Wins/losses, called plays to some extent, don't mean $#!+ in preseason.
I haven't looked, but I had a feeling plenty would lose their minds over a glorified practice game between several guys who likely won't even make the roster. 🥱
I suspect 710 will be a bunch of people losing their minds about a practice game. A game that had players that most of them have never even heard of. There's a reason I yell "nice play, that one guy" when watching preseason.

Not talking about people on here, for the record.

This game was about weeding out guys that are on the bubble. Figuring out who the depth is going to be.

I turned it on and looked at the starting oline and turned it right back off. This game was for the coaches.

Fumbling the ball away multiple times is never a part of any play calling or conducive to a favorable outcome.

The toxic or caustic ratio still matters.

Yeah, hopefully he learns from it. He spoke on it at the post game presser. And I noticed on the 2nd QB sneak he had both arms wrapped around the ball moving through the scrum, like you're supposed to do in that situation.

I did not watch the game as I was busy. But for some odd reason, I decided to record it. You all are to be thanked. You all mentioned that Milroe played the game. That is what I want to watch. I will be watching it shortly. Thank You.

I heard Mike state the idea was to see how milroe managed the play clock and some of the fundamentals.

That made sense to me. Then the offensive gameplan made sense as well.

3rd preseason game - I mean take a nap on a table on the sidelines for reals

Question: I haven't watched the game yet, so can anyone tell me if Lock was suited up??? An unfortunate injury can happen at any time, but that can be mitigated a touch by keeping JM out of harms way as much as possible.....ie....not alot of run plays and such. Also, if Milroe were to get hurt, and nobody else(QB) is suited up, who is the emergency to the emergency back up?

Notice that there were far more tries on 4th down than you will ever see in a reg season game.

They were testing players and plays to see how they might work when they really count. Checking out situations that they will see in the coming season and seeing if the players and schemes were viable.
Right. How many plays do they try and then come back and be like, “ok, that one’s not gonna work…” they really are experimenting, like a major league pitcher trying out a knuckle curve in spring training and it gets launched. We’re talking bout practice…

My only interest in this game was in checking Milroe out for an extended session and seeing what he was going to put on tape to learn from.

I saw yet another playbook from a 3rd Seahawks OC in 3 years where RBs still don't pass block and are nothing more than afterthoughts as receivers on passing plays. Maybe you can win playing with 10 players on passing downs, but I doubt it.

2nd, 3rd and 4th stringers. Many will be working at Burger King next week. Meh burger. Learning experience, and a good one.

Any play calling looks bad, when the OL gets their asses kicked play after play. Half those guys need cut. Oh and Martinez isn’t good at blocking Or really running. Should be a practice squad guy

Since my DVR actually started working properly, I did actually record the game and am in the process of finishing the second half. So far, it does not look too bad. Experience is a thing, and Milroe just falls in that category. Needs time to polish his skillset. He is keeping his head on a swivel. That is a good quarterback as he goes through his progressions.

Yes, Allen, we talkin bout practice. Not even a game. Not even a real game!
P.S. You just can't help yourself, must be old English teachers in your head, correcting and punctuating that attempt at Iverson-speak. :ROFLMAO:
