Was I the only one that thought Lockett

Made a huge heads-up play by jumping up immediately after making that catch on the play before the last touchdown and sprinting straight to the ref in the middle of the field to get the ball spotted? When he first took off I was like " what is he doing". Then I was like great move saving some seconds. Gave enough time to calmly get the TD play set.

You are not. Same when PRich caught that bomb on the last drive and got up right away after falling to the ground (wasn't touched). Definitely encouraging when individual players show examples of focus and discipline.

Even Rich Gannon gave him props on the move. Rare to hear national announcers give credit out like that to the Seahawks. Gannon seemed okay, but Kevin Harlan was an idiot. The guy couldn't spot a ball to save his life.

In a lofty place tanglin' with Satan over history.
It was actually pretty crucial. That is what happens when you have a young kid on the squad who is more than just a "jock". I don't think most of the Diva Receivers in the league pay enough attention to the "game of inches" aspects of the sport. A certain injured receiver from NY would have hopped up and did a twirling Michael Jackson move/somersault celebration smh

Huge issue

If he doesn't do stuff like that Houston would have had less time on the clock when they got he ball back!!! Could have cost us the game!

It's just the least reason why I have his jersey. Man was Kansas State's entire offense 3 years ago.

Yeah, a really smart football play. Love the kid. Hope we can keep him long term.

Very intelligent play by Lockett which not only saved time but I think it also contributed to Houston’s complete meltdown on that last play. The ball was spotted and the Seahawks lined up so quickly that the Texans were still trying to get onside and in position, they were not at all ready to play when the ball was snapped. If the Texans had 5 more seconds to before the ball was snapped they may have actually attempted to cover somebody.

Another heads up play was Paul Richardson getting enough hands on the defender to push him out of bounds after that Hawks interception with under 2 minutes left. Otherwise the Texans defender would have been running up the sideline with only Wilson to stop him. Lots of other diva receivers would not have made that play.

Lol, got me with that one. I was thinking mikeak is usually on point with the stuff he says, WTF is he thinking? OK so we left ATL and Matt Ryan a few too many seconds in the divisional round in 2012.

Leaving opponent as little time after scoring... I was a little surprised they didn't have Walsh kick it a bit short to cause a return and burn a few seconds, but after thinking it over, kicking it deep was the play with the fewest possible bad outcomes. Tell a kicker to kick it a little short, and the next thing you know, he shanks it out of bounds and they start on the 40.

Totally this. No question. What a great idea by Lockett. Let's see if the Hawks add this approach to their standard 2 minute drill and the rest of the league copies it. Next thing you know, we'll need rules to keep defenders from impeding a player getting the ball back into play.

This is the biggest thing that stood out to me. Most players know they need to give it to the ref but Seattle got up and on the ball so quick it caught Hou off guard.

Very heads up play on Locketts part.

As for the only one? I guess not since they acknowledged the importance on TV.

.

Nailed it! That "afterplay" by Lockett contributed to the EZ TD to Graham. Good call :2thumbs:

The Texans sideline should have called a timeout, their Defense was in total confusion, the Hawks took complete advantage of them, this is a well coached team. The Locket play is also coaching, he is not the first person to run the ball to the ref for a quick placement.

The comeback probably doesn't happen if Willson doesn't jump on the fumble forward.

Did you watch the Ohio state game on Saturday? They kicked the line drive kick we seemonce in awhile except the Penn state guy stood on the 40yard line and blocked it. Really risky play but huge upside and gave Penn dtate 20yards for free

And yes my post was sarcasm :)
