Looking forward to hearing how amazing whoever we take is doing in Everett in 3 years, and how they're sooo close to the bigs in like 5 years.

So mariners have the 3rd pick. I just read an article having them take a reliever. Remember Josh fields? I don’t like a reliever in this slot. And there’s another Holliday available. I would like a superstar please

There are a few sites that have them taking LHP Anderson from LSU.
I'm fine with taking him and using the IFA for hitters.
Anderson will be a fast track for sure.

If we don't get Anderson, I like Arquette from OSU.
That is where I am at. Everything I read has Anderson going to Nationals at #1. Hard to believe they will pass on him. Arnold is another name I hear for M's. Holliday was my guy a few months back. He seems to have the highest ceiling, but is also a risk since he is a high school kid. I wouldn't mind going for it with him either.

I would be good with Holliday too.

I did here a couple of 'experts' talk about going off the top players to draft a guy cheaper and use the money to get better players at lower positions. I hate that crap. get the best player. The #3 doesn't come around every day.
It has worked out well for the Ms , this year being the first time they
have had a pick this high in years, I think they will take a top 3 player.
It's a shame they can't trade picks for more picks the following year like
the NFL.. I'd take a top 10 for someone's first next season.

I remember a few months back OF Jace LaViolette (sp?) being talked about as a top 2 pick but has fallen to around the early teens. Anyone know what happened to him?

He's a big boy!
All I see is that his numbers went down from his freshman/sophomore years,
this may cause some concern and he also only hit .277 which isn't bad but
I'd expect higher before you go into the pros but that is only me.

Updated BA Mock. I don't have access, but it is fun to see where they are at with M's #3 pick.

Would the top three teams pass on Holliday just so the Rockies could take him to follow his dad..?

That’s bs. I want the mariners to take him
I don't think they would for that reason, but it sure sounds like the experts believe he will drop below #3. High school kids are such a risk but can be such a reward. I remember decades ago we took Patrick Lennon out of high school. The kid was unstoppable there, but life hit him on and off the field. It is just a lot harder to know what you have with a kid in high school.

The story of Lennon:
