No it isn't. Actually the 49ers quarterback situation is better than the Hawks. I can say this because I'm completely objective and always right.
Geno Smith is a one year wonder who started off hot but became mediocre as the season went on.
Purdy got better as the season went on even though teams were doing their best to blitz / confuse Mr. Relevant. He played well in games where he didn't practice all week due to rib injuries. He made off schedule plays, threw from different arm angles, all the stuff you want a QB to do. It reminded me a little of Montana *makes sign of cross*.
If Purdy is not ready to go, Darnold and Lance will be fighting it out. Darnold was at least the equivalent of Geno prior to last year, is finally playing for a good team, and has the arm talent to run the system. His QB rating last season was 94 for the mediocre Panthers with no-name receivers (the other qbs combined for a roughly 75 rating). Geno Smith was 100.9 with better receivers. Lance is wait and see, but there have been some positive news items regarding improved mechanics and a properly healed finger. It’s amazing to have 3 quarterbacks with such potential on one team, and then you add Shanahan as the coach? Yikes.
