It's just trash talking, that's all. We understand that it's nonsensical, but just having a little fun.
Heh. That reminded me of something from about thirty years ago and another thing from almost 37 years ago.
I went to some baseball games between the Minnesota Twins and the Chicago White Sox over a long weekend in 1993 or 1994. Those were the two seasons when Frank Thomas won his MVP awards despite being a really bad defensive first baseman. The guy's hitting was phenomenal (otherworldly in '94 before the dumbfuck owners forced a strike that robbed baseball fans of what had been a great MLB season). Anyway, there was this one Twins fan in the crowd at one of the games who kept saying "not even warning-track power" about Thomas. It was so silly that everyone around knew he was just trash talking for fun, and none of the White Sox fans got upset with him.
That's different from something that happened during the second of two Seahawks games my dad took me to see in Foxborough in 1984 and '86. During the '86 game, I kept cheering for the Seahawks defense to put pressure on Eason to try to make him give us the game. After Eason completed a key pass, a big drunk Patriots fan (at least one of those words was redundant in Sullivan Stadium in the 1980s) sitting just in front of us turned around and angrily yelled in my face "PRESHA!" - that's Masshole for "pressure."
That guy took my anti-Patriots trash talk way too seriously. He was really angry. Maybe it was the alcohol, or maybe he was just an angry guy. Whatevsky. Too bad for him the Seahawks beat his team that day in a back-and-forth battle that featured a 38-point fourth quarter (24 of the Seahawks' 38 and 14 of the Patriots' 31).
