Went to training camp today. The offense and Russell Wilson looked pretty good. Luke Wilson made 2 big plays that stood out along with Doug Baldwin. On a side note both Pete Carroll and John Scheider signed autographs afterwards. John was really awesome, down to earth, talked to everyone and was very gracious for the comments people were giving him. What a great dude.

The offense had its good moments, but I saw lots of under and over throwing. A person more observant than me could
assign blame to receivers or to the QB, but I don't like seeing that stuff during practice.

I was at training camp 2 weeks ago and this looked light years better.....not sure if that is a good or bad thing. :34853_tinfoil:

I'd be indifferent if it wasn't for the lackluster preseason opening performance. If the offense struggles again in the next preseason game, I would be concerned. Because that's what boredom does to people.

Not that you're prone to it, but this is why I cant WAIT until the preseason's over. Preseason isn't really anything to get concerned about anyways, but ESPECIALLY, with Wilson.

For all we know Wilson could've been trying to establish specific patterns and timing with WR's Thursday night? And, he dopes need to work on timing routes in general anyways, so, it wouldn't surprise me if that was a priority over yards.

Or his recievers just need to start finding ways to get open.. Saw the same thing thursday night as i did at the beginning of last season, no seperation.. you can run around like a chicken with your head cut off, but it does no good to extend plays if you're recievers are covered like a blanket.

The point is, we've seen 1 preseason game and its way too early to tell. No reason to think the wheels are coming off.

Our secondary shuts down elite WR corps.

Our entire WR corps isn't elite. Especially when the defense gets to play against them every week, and knows their tendencies.

I don't read too much into it yet. Our offense is miles ahead of where it was last year at this time.

Defin!
I had this though after watching the highlights of our WR Corps last year. Many passes were up for grabs and our greedy wr's just seemed to come down with them automatically. That Tjack -> Williams TD, same thing.

Our WRs are used to dealing with flat-out better defenders at practice day in/day out which carries over well to gameday (in addition to having the LOB shutting down the opposition).

I agree, i don't think the wheels are coming off at all, I just made an observation that thursday night, the 1's had the same problem not getting open as they did in the 1 part of the season last year. The problem seems to work itself out, no reason to think it won't again. I'm extremely optimistic going into the season, and i for one think we have a very solid recieving core..

Wilson looked good. TJack looked good (and burned Sherman deep). Turbin looked eager to play but dropped two passes from RW (one would have been a TD).

Lots of good players not practicing today.

Williams is very skinny. Beastmode needs to pull his pants up.

Brady Quinn is horrible and won't make the squad.

At this point I think the best thing for our Receiving corps is to be sparring against the best defensive backfield in football...Pressure makes Diamonds!

I think Wilson is just over and under throwing his receivers in camp and pre-season to know what it is like to be average, it helps him set his own bar. Think of it as a calibration exercise.
