Hate to tell you guys, but I don't expect a Geno get. Williamson is the future at 3d base for us. 🤷‍♂️ He's a light hitter for now, but his defense is pretty good.

The only infield position I see them getting is 1st Base, although Solano is making a case to stay on the team. Young is the future at 2d base, no way they move him.

Wouldn't be surprised by a bull pen pickup, of course. But with Mooney and Brash dealing and Vargas holding his own, not sure we need a high priced leverage arm. Some solid depth for the middle innings, yeah, sure.

I'm not sure how much people expect out of their backup catcher, but Garve is about what I'd expect. Calling Ford up might be a waste of resources.

I know y'all hate it, but I don't expect a lot of action this trade deadline. 🤷‍♂️
Garver is a great backup catcher except the cost, but we’re stuck with that.

I expect Dipoto to use that same reasoning or at least use it as an explanation to the fans. I admit it makes more sense now than it did a week ago, but we have 5 weeks before the reasoning really makes sense or not. I still believe one solid vet producing bat is needed to protect Cal. Not sure who that would be, but somebody not past their prime and on their last leg.

You never have enough pen arms. I would love one more solid lefty out of the pen and one more 7th-8th inning righty when the guys you mention can't go.
Yeah another lefty would be nice. Isn’t Gabe speir the only lefty? He’s a little unpredictable

Aroldis Chapman?

He is and he is. Plus one more so you have a guy you can bring in the 6th if needed but still have one for the 8th if needed too.

Aroldis Chapman for Emerson hancock
Not sure if I would do that. I guess I believe in Hancock a little more than most. I know he has had 3 bad games, but he has had 10 very good ones. Maybe if we were 5 up instead of 5 down I would. Ask me tomorrow, I may have a different answer.

I like Hancock too. That’s why I think it’s a plausible trade

Oh it might be a plausible. Trade speculations are not my best feature. I just would want more for him. Being old school, I always think starting pitching should be of the highest trade value. Maybe that is not so anymore, but my brain won't let that thought go.

Maybe they could get more. Just seems like our top trade pieces are either Luis Castillo, Emerson or Logan Evans. Or else prospects

Agreed. I predicted on another site that my guess is that the two most likely trade chips are both Ford's. Harry and Walter both seem expendable and both have value. I thought Canzone as well but with 3 homers of late and them ditching Tellez, they may keep his LH power bat.

I don’t know how much value canzone has. I like him. But I’m a homer. I actually noticed him when he was a diamondback. We played them and he stood out to me cause of his squaty stance. I thought he looked like a strong aggressive kid. Then two days later we traded Paul sewald to them for the chef, Ryan bliss, and Josh Rojas. I guess not a bad trade when you look back on it now, but when it happened it was a little rough, not quite as bad as Kendal graveman felt but same ballpark
