What do you want to see at the deadline, realistically?

I Would like to see Naylor at 1st (if we can sign him long term) and Eugenio at 3rd.
Crawford, Rodriguez, Raliegh, Naylor, Suarez, Polanco, Raley, Young, Arozarena,
Thats a pretty good line up, with good pitching they would make a run.
Would be nice to improve the bullpen too.

I agree, he has a lot of strikeouts, but a 100 RBI a year is a big deal. If Cal had any protection, he would have 35 HR's by now.

Geno has fewer K's than guys like Judge, Ohtani, and Schwarber in a comparable number of AB's. He finished last season with exactly the same number of K's as Cal, and he has exactly the same number of K's as Cal this season. He's currently the RBI leader in all of MLB, and he has averaged 30 HR's and 95 RBI's per season for his career (but is on pace to destroy those career averages this year).

Geno is an incredibly productive hitter despite the K's. Not wanting him because "he strikes out too much" is absurdly short sighted. I guess we don't want Cal either because he strikes out exactly as much as Geno (which is apparently too much and apparently production doesn't matter if you K "too much").

I get people hate strike outs, but in the end it is about production. I mean what is worse a guy with 200K and 100 RBI or a guy with 100K and 70 RBI? I think Ks are overexaggerated to a point. High Ks, low production is more of a problem.

The K's don't matter when you're as productive as Geno is. He's literally leading all of MLB in RBI's.

Getting rid of him because "he K's too much" was one of the dumbest things Jerry has done.

I like good vibes only. He brought leadership to this team and I remember at the end of his time here I had the most confidence in him at the plate outa most our hitters. I think he has improved since he first came to Seattle. Good vibes!!!!

He's everything you could reasonably ask for in a player. Very productive hitter, very good on D at 3B, fantastic attitude, great teammate, great leader in the club house, basically everyone from coaches to teammates to fans love the guy.

I can't imagine there's a GM, manager, or player in the league that wouldn't love to have Geno on their team. Well, except Jerry I guess.

Jerry traded Geno for Carlos Vargas and Seby Zavala.

Zavala only played in 18 games for the M's before being DFA'd. Vargas has thrown 36 innings in 33 games and has been pretty decent overall, but obviously not even remotely close to being worth giving up Geno.

Anyone think we can get Geno for a really bad backup catcher and a mid level righty reliever?

It was basically dumping him for salary… to go get three players who weren’t as good

Hate to tell you guys, but I don't expect a Geno get. Williamson is the future at 3d base for us. 🤷‍♂️ He's a light hitter for now, but his defense is pretty good.

The only infield position I see them getting is 1st Base, although Solano is making a case to stay on the team. Young is the future at 2d base, no way they move him.

Wouldn't be surprised by a bull pen pickup, of course. But with Mooney and Brash dealing and Vargas holding his own, not sure we need a high priced leverage arm. Some solid depth for the middle innings, yeah, sure.

I'm not sure how much people expect out of their backup catcher, but Garve is about what I'd expect. Calling Ford up might be a waste of resources.

I know y'all hate it, but I don't expect a lot of action this trade deadline. 🤷‍♂️

I expect Dipoto to use that same reasoning or at least use it as an explanation to the fans. I admit it makes more sense now than it did a week ago, but we have 5 weeks before the reasoning really makes sense or not. I still believe one solid vet producing bat is needed to protect Cal. Not sure who that would be, but somebody not past their prime and on their last leg.

You never have enough pen arms. I would love one more solid lefty out of the pen and one more 7th-8th inning righty when the guys you mention can't go.

I don't expect it either. In fact, I would be shocked if Dipoto went out and got a player of the caliber of Geno or Naylor.
