I hope it works the way he hopes it works, but my confidence is not red-lining based on one good year (following several not good years) by the guy right behind center. But I will give benefit of doubt and believe in him until it just does not work.

Well he will have next season and perhaps the season after that to prove that it works so as the old saying goes : "Buckle up, buttercup" ;)

and Schneider had to convince Carroll to draft Wilson
…and from what I remember of that draft is they said they could barely contain Schneider’s desire to draft Russell a round earlier and they made him be patient and wait

Schnieder has THREE Schneider-certified QBs on the roster now. Any QBs, once they receive Schneider certification, their trade or draft value goes up by 2 rounds. Schneider certifications are in demand.

You may all know this already, but I just learned that Sam Darnold and Drew Lock have been friends since high school, when they were roommates during the All-American Bowl.

Should make for a harmonious QB room. Although you wonder what will happen to Lock now that they've drafted Milroe.

I think Michael Irvin would disagree that it's a lateral move.

Of course he's forgetting about JSN but that's okay 'cause he'll ball out, too.

Sam is a good QB that will go out there and do his job (Playing Point-Guard).

That's all that Seattle wants from him.
Kupp and JSN will get good separation on short-to-medium routes, giving him some easy targets.

This thing might work!

I like Irvin's thoughts - Kupp's precise route running makes him an insta-outlet for Darnold.

O-line efficiency will determine just how critical that will be for SD. I realize it is always critical - but a matter of degree.

Is Colin Cowherd the worst talking head? Or just one of the worst?

As much of a Darnold Stan that he is, he does bring up good points (especially in regards to Darnold).

Also, he rightly pointed out that San Francisco is going to take a step back unlike the moronic rankings out there that act like the Niners didn't just have a fire sale.

I am not saying he can't be right about something, but he rarely is.

After watching the Top Billin video I'm a bit more hopeful about Darnold. I will stop rejecting him out-of-hand, and at least give him a short leash before relegating him to T-Jack (RIP) 2.0 status. I hope to be pleasantly surprised. And, nothing personal about T-Jack. I just never thought he was The One. I certainly never wanted to refer to him with the honorific of RIP.

I'm thinking a half-season (which is weird with a 17-game season) before becoming intransigent with my ill-informed opinion. One way or the other.

^We should definitely be able to make an informed judgment as to Sam's viability with the Hawks by mid season I should think. I do wonder how much rope they'll give him now that Milroe is in the stable, especially if he plays good but not great, i.e, first round playoff exit. Will be a very interesting and entertaining season for sure. Finally!

Lol....Seriously? Nothing to do with Darnold, Michael Irvin is a coked-up idiot. I don't think he's ever made sense since he bounced hus head off the Vet's carpet
