Ah the 4th grade, I remember it well, was there for 6 years until both me and my dad got kicked out for having a spit-wad fight and accidentilee hit the teacher in the forehed.
I like your dad already.

Article says Brady was in-charge of the QB search... That doesn't seem right to me. Pete, and who he chose at QB, was what cost him his credibility in Seattle. Would he move and give up those reigns but coincidentally end up with the QB he knows best (ok, 2nd best) in the league? Maybe the article is exaggerating Brady's involvement or maybe it's exaggerating his feelings toward Darnold, but the reality is Pete would end up with Geno if Brady wasn't involved at all so it's kind of a story about nothing and made up details to fill in the edges....

Yeah, that's not hate. That's just skepticism and it's entirely fair.
I agree and I'm the resident Darnold stan here.

Hoping this new offensive scheme by Kubiak helps Darnold get the ball out quicker and on-time.

I saw a recent video by Dan Viens (Seahawks Forever) critiquing (along with along with Bryce of HawksZone Rundown) the 12 INTs Sam threw last season and Dan pointed out at the end that the one common denominator that he noticed was that Sam held the ball too long which led to him being late on throws that got him into hot water.

This is the vid but you have to be a member (at least right now until it publically airs later) :

A dominant running game will be MASSIVELY helpful for Darnold.

I don’t see them being much better than 3-6. I’m excited to see the rookies and how they develop, but I don’t think the roster overall is really all that good or talented to this point.

The defense will be far ahead of the offense, but I still don’t believe the team has a solid pass rusher outside of Mafe, the corner position will be exposed, and this offense isn’t designed to come from behind.

I have hope for the future, it’s just not this season and definitely not with Darnold.
With THIS schedule?

Hot Take by me : "You're being unreasonable here" NO CAP.

3n6 after week nine?

I’m as skeptical as anyone I suppose but 3n6 is next level.

I sure hope you’re wrong/trolling.

Darnold is a perfect fit for this team with Kubiak and would be a big question mark in Vegas with Chip Kelly.
Plus, I like Darnold's chances of making the playoffs again in this division than the one that the Raiders are in.

That team over there ain't making the playoffs.

What cost Carroll his credibility in Seattle was hiring and then wanting to stick with disasterous OC choice and even worse DC choice. Neither Hurrt or Waldron were suited for their promotions, and during Carroll's interview with Jody and her "non-football people" he was planning to stick with them, and that was the reason he was let go.

This is in no way directed at you chrispy, it is mostly that there are a lot of members here who can not discern when play design hinders a QB, but Geno was screwed here by two straight OCs.

I don't disagree. I was referring to credibility with players, or some players, in how he treated RCW. It just seemed odd (to me) that Pete was so protective of all QB decisions in Seattle, including OCs as you point out, to then completely hand off that decision to Brady. I don't see it. But it's irrelevant at this point.

Whether it was Pete or Brady or some current happy medium where they agreed, it's not the recent decision of bringing in Geno that really matters. The real question, to me, that the article completely skirts is what happens when they don't agree? Of course Carroll has final say but he'll have TB12 saying "I told you so" to Davis every time he's wrong. It could make for a short tenure in Vegas. ...or maybe they just agree on everything ....

I'll take that bet. flip flop those numbers and that will be the record.

Darnold worries me, and I'm generally a fan of his. He's got talent, hell of an arm, can fit it into tight windows, and seems like a nice guy. I just don't see him handling pressure very well unless he has a pretty miraculous turnaround in that regard.

He's a great stopgap, Minnesota knows that first hand. I just don't think you can win a Super Bowl with him, and I think the staff knows that. They're going to try to break the game with Milroe's arm and athleticism at some point if he shows ability in practice and preseason action, or they're going to keep looking for the guy.

With all of that said, here's to hoping he puts together another good year for us. I'm certainly rooting for a great showing. I love a comeback kid.
No way. Shocking.

Darnold doesn't worry me.

And I do see him handling pressure very well provided he gets the ball out quickly.

Where he gets into trouble is when he doesn't do that and hopefully this offensive scheme helps to mitigate that issue.

I mean, at one point during the season last year, they put up a stat during a game broadcast late during the season where it showed he was downright lethal against the blitz.

It was only because of the final 2 games that people chose to ignore or forget that (and acted like he always sucked at handling pressure which was untrue).

I don't care how the contract is structured...You don't sign a "stopgap" to a 100 million dollar contract.

C'mon...Sam is not a stopgap.

And you can't win a SB with him? Trent Dilfer and Nick Foles say "hi".

So I say you CAN win a SB with him but again that's just my opinion.

, and I think the staff knows that.

How would a staff that's BRAND NEW (and just arrived) automatically know that a QB is incapable of winning a SB?

Geno has higher floor than Darnold. He is actually getting more guaranteed money than Sam.

Pete probably does not have final say with the Raiders. Heck, Pete may not have final say with the Hawk in his final years. He might have lost that final say once our lovely Jody took over.
