This team really needs to move on from G-no

it’s been shown over and over again that QBs are a crapshoot in a draft. I think you just draft one you like somewhere in round 1-5 and see if he competes.
We seem reluctant to draft one. Even under Wilson we never drafted a developmental qb

Crap shoot is right. The 49ers gave up like 3 first rounders to draft Lance third over all. That failed but they find a great QB with the last pick in the draft.

A lot of top five draft picks at the WB position fail. Reason for this is the team picking them really had to suck to get them and don’t have a team around him to succeed

Then they destroy the kids development if they don’t get instant gratification. Fans are absolutely do more harm then help to the kid

The last time the Seahawks used a first round pick on a QB was for Rick Mirer. Thirty years ago

Geno had an off night. Quite uncharacteristic.

The line is pretty damn bad but, the INTs were on Geno (imo).

Problem is…Geno can’t have an “off night” with this team. The lines not strong enough to enable our run game. The defense definitely had me fooled in the first few games but has since taken a 180.

We’re two studs (minimum) short up front on O and 2-3 studs short (take your pick…LB/LB/DB or DB/DB/LB) on D.

The better team won tonight…and it’s apparent that our rookie FO have their work cut out for them.

This is a better view and it definitely implicates DK on the second pick

Geno's hanging in the pocket and throwing with anticipation, so it's almost certainly on DK. It's tough, though, because if Geno had more time in the pocket, he might have seen what DK saw; there's a ton of space over the top.

It's really no surprise that Geno turned 34 yesterday and looked completely washed, sailing short passes and badly underthrowing deep balls, which I've been flamed repeatedly for suggesting was likely to happen. "Wear and tear", my ass: Captain Time doesn't hold up the bus to the 4:30 early bird dinner special for anyone.

I hate having a bridge/ stopgap / placeholder or whatever you want call it) at QB. Just knowing he won't be our QB next year makes me think, what's the point? And if he is still our starter next year, that's even more depressing. Painfully average. Painfully inconsistent. Might have a great game in Atlanta, but if so, it will be followed by an awful performance against Buffalo. Rinse and repeat.

This is just a flat-out terrible take. It's not even remotely close to the reality of the situation, even in this game.

I thought after Geno led the league in game winning drives last season and set the NFL record for go ahead touchdown passes in 4th quarter or overtime, people would stop trotting out the "just not able to win games" canard because it's so obviously not based on anything in reality, but I guess not.

In this game, he hurt us. Yeah. So did Shenault. So did DK. But those three guys all also had big time plays to make up for it and kept us in the game. Saying a QB can't win who literally brought us back into the thick of it MULTIPLE times (like, seriously, are we just ignoring the two scoring drives at the end of the game that he led?) takes a level of disconnect that I'm not capable of understanding. Dude could have EASILY chucked the game in the bin after the second INT but didn't.

Meanwhile, our defense lets three backup RBs for 200+ yards. They put up almost double the league average in rushing yards on us.

Our lead RB behind this O-Line had 14 carries for 32 yards. That's not even half of league average yards per carry.

When was the last time you've seen Geno pull out of a comeback win against a good team? I know there are more problems besides Geno on this team but this dude has his fair share of blundering a win as much as he has comeback wins. Since 2022 he has only completed a comeback against two teams (Detroit and Cleveland) that had more than 10 wins in the season and the rest were horrible teams that only had 4 to 6 wins. I like to see Geno prove himself that he can hang with the best of them and win these big games.

We didn't need to get the full 18 here.

Of course we didn't. But if you watch the play again you can see Geno locks in on him. He has Fant open towards the numbers but doesn't even see him. Now maybe that's a big factor as well, but for the sake of this specific conversation, my argument that Tomlinson getting rag dolled led to the INT still stands, imo.

I was going to just shrug this comment off. I mean, you basically asked 'when's the last time Geno did something that he did less than a season ago?'

But, ok, let's examine the premise here. One, you are right, his GWDs weren't against impressive teams in 2022.

But in 2023, he led the league with GWDs. So, we can't actually compare him against any other QBs who had 5 Game Winning Drives because there were none. But there were 4 guys who had 4 game winning drives: Josh Allen, Jalen Hurts, Russell Wilson, and Desmond Ridder. You know which one had more than 2 against a winning team? (If you guessed Desmond Ridder... you are correct. Also, a liar. No one would have guessed Desmond Ridder.)

This isn't a strong argument.

If Walker sets his feet, Geno has a monster game even while playing relatively poorly. He's not washed.

It's shocking that Geno is the main story, not the defense, which is playing as badly as it has in any stretch of the previous three seasons.
