This team needs to be tested

A lot of us were saying this before the Saints game in 2013. We pointed out that the schedule hadn't been that difficult, though the Hawks were annihilating the comers who sucked. Then Brees stepped onto the field and...the success carried over. :)

Some of us were also saying this after the Redskins playoff game in 2007...but not very many of us. Sadly, the success did not carry over there.

So there's precedent for both.

Not sure what last year has to do with anything... look at the commanders and other teams... plus other who are on the rise..

Super Bowl Champs? Really we are relying on yesteryear?
They are 7-2 as well?

My joke was way over your head.
People keep saying the Rams will be a huge test. I say the Hawks will be a huge test.
These can both be accurate statements — it's not an either/or. The Rams and Seahawks are different teams. Both have played well and have the season records to prove it. Each team will be a huge test for the other.

I think the biggest need is for the Seahawks to keep their foot on the gas.

For whatever reason, when they are up big and try to let off the gas, they crash and burn. Until they can figure that out, go 100%!

The worst thing that can happen is being up 17 points and losing the game because of being unsure on how aggressive to be

And I’m not talking drug tested like what my co workers think when they see me walking into the office yelling “6-7! 6-7!”

In my honest opinion, I believe the one final test for the 2025 Seahawks to really set themselves up for success and win the Superb Owl is to have a COME FROM BEHIND VICTORY.

This team is so used to playing with a lead. They have led at points in all nine of their games, but they have yet to win that come from behind, clutch your cheeks type of performance. That, imo, will really give this team the confidence to beat anyone, and will most importantly give them confidence to know they can do that against the other top teams come playoff time.

Yes, blowing out the teams is fun, but that isn’t being tested. They’re now getting in the mode of playing one half of football.

I want the Rams to go up like 14-3 on these guys at halftime. Why? Because they need, and I mean really desperately need, to claw back from the brink of defeat. There isn’t a more satisfying victory out there to truly bring this team together.

We need the Seahawks to be tested!
It's an interesting idea. I question when we go deliberately into a pure runtime mode: The Prevent Offense. We did good with that the other day. I don't think we can come from behind with it though. Perhaps we are just building and when we get there we will be unstoppable.

Let me be clear..I want to smash every team 72-0..it's good to have goals.
This little team from" SW Alaska" needs to smack the isht out of teams to get any attention. It's funny to me when the talking heads have to finally acknowledge us.. as much as they hate to.

The Hawks have already passed the players physical/ability 'test,' but the final hurdle toward establishing the Hawks as a bona fide contender is that of coaching, planning, and strategizing (CPS) against another highly cerebral team with a long proven track record. CPS against Shanahan in Week 1 was a major challenge, though Week 1 games are oftentimes odd outliers. We did well vs Tomlin's Steelers, though they are having a bit of a down year this season. Mid-season CPS against a team with a driven and cerebral coach like McVay is the ultimate test.

Even if Seattle loses this weekend, it will be a good opportunity to see how well-prepared they are in the CPS department. This includes preparation against preparation. The opponent now has plenty of game film to study will use their CPS to try to counter our strengths. Can we still execute well to stay one step ahead, countering their counter? Yes, it goes both ways for both teams, but Macdonald is in just his second year as head coach while McVay has been head coach since 2017 and has a proven resume.

Seahawks coaching can 'pass' the CPS test even in a loss (which, if that happens, would probably be a close, well-played game on both sides). Though a W would pretty much rocket Seattle to #1 in every single ranking chart on the planet. Except ESPN's, of course.

The Rams strength plays right into the teeth of the Seahawks strength so it’s a huge test for the Rams as well. Stafford may find success or he may get crumpled to the turf throwing picks. It’s really a McVay vs Macdonald chess match.

The way I read the OP is the poster wants to have a come from behind win. Not that the poster WANTS the Hawks to be trailing. But if funny bounces happen and we are trailing 14-3 a comeback win would be nice.

I'd take blowout wins right through February. Let's get that straight right here.

In terms of being tested, the team seems skew to that concept to me. Mike McDonald's theory, the way I see it, is the process is as important as the result. If you are a golfer, and you can play a little, you might concur with that concept. To me, this is why MM or KK has Sam dropping back into his own endzone with a decent lead, things that a conventional team would seldom do. In a sense, the Hawks are just playing offense with lesser regard of the situation than convention would dictate.

So the "test" the OP has laid out (14-3) might cause the Hawks to become more situational. What would THAT look like? My fear is it might look like Sam's final two games with the Vikings. My hope is that what the Vikings did to Sam after (incredibly) not extending him, has turned nice Sam into revenge Sam that he now appears to be. Some guys really perform well when pissed or insulted. I think Sam is pissed. I think Sam is insulted. I would be.

I want to see the Sam that ripped that 5th TD pass in the Rose Bowl to beat Penn State with :50 left. I'm seeing that Sam this season. I want to see THAT Sam this coming February!

To be clear, blowouts are good!

Don't get me started on the Seahawk defense. 💪

Right, that’s exactly how I read the OP as well. Seemed clear to me, but some people chose to get offended by it. Strange.

Unfortunate the OP got pissed and apparently quit the forum, seemed like a funny dude.

And I agree with him as well. The final test of this team would be to pull out a come from behind win. Hopefully they don’t need to do that.

It’s crazy that you predicted the Rams going up 14-3 (just not by halftime)

Was the team tested enough in this game to make them stronger?

Posts like this should earn the OP or people who create them… at least a week long ban lol. “I’m a Seahawks fan! .. but I wanna see them lose and play from behind!!”

What stupid sounding shit is that.

That’s the thing though. That’s not what the OP was saying.

They believed it would be beneficial for the team to grow if they came from behind and were, as the thread title stated, tested.

I’ve been lurking around here for awhile, but posts like this OP should be commended for trying to spark conversation. Otherwise, what’s the point?

And they never said they wanted to see the team lose. They wanted a come from behind victory. The more I read what they put and your response, it’s understandable why they got so frustrated with the board.

I guess the site limits who can and cannot start new threads. So maybe it is like only 6 posters dictating the conversations?

Interesting take. What would make you make that kind of assumption?

I do not know although I have tried to find some rules showing who can and who cannot initiate threads. Dint look too hard though. I see that my page shows "insufficient privileges to post here . . ." or something like that. Are there rules for newbies?
