it feels like a LOT is missing on the oline... I dont know. I FEEL like a tom cable oline actually looked better than this.. and those guys were Dline converts and laid on the ground right at the snap...

I thought they had significant improvement from last week. Geno had time to pass on many more plays than last week.

Still a lot of room to improve, but I was not cursing them the entire game. Charbs is not a direct replacement for K9. I'd like to have seen Kenny get some snaps. I think he has more juke than charbs.

So last week the story regarding this o line was that they were bad but at least they could run block. This week they were bad but at least they could pass block. Was the good run blocking good because K9 made up for their ineptness? If that’s the case then I guess this week Geno was good enough to make their pass blocking look good or at least functional.

Week 2 still looking pretty bad imo... REALLY BAD... slightly better than last week.. but still bad. lol
Definitely worse in the run blocking but that was to be expected. What surprised me was how much pressure they got on Geno consistently throughout the game. Luckily Geno was able to get the ball away quickly and accurately.

Last week, there was mention of them changing the line splits after half time, presumably reducing them.

This week, the formations looked a bit dense, and not just on short yardage plays. Maybe they're a bit too tight and clogging the lanes a bit. Just spitballin' here, I'm no coach nor expert. They were good enough to win the game, and Geno was upright for most of the plays and only had to scramble a few times.

Anyway, just offering up what I saw. 🤷‍♂️

Astute observation. Someone with more/better X O wisdom wanna chime in?

I worry that as long as we keep Schneider, we will continue you to struggle on the interior of the OL. He just undervalued interior OL

The one time we had good pieces in the interior line, JS traded away our best OL for a TE who couldn’t block

I was thinking. I know, bad idea.

In college, they may use looser formations. I know a lot of teams are going spread offenses, etc. I know UW wasn't doing that, but they did throw a lot because of injury to the RB room and, well, Grubb's style. They could be testing things out early in the season to see what works best.

A lot of mental mistakes causing penalties.
Bad play call on 4th and one in third quarter, should of went with FG.
The good was the win and we rested K-9 and Fant.
