We were not using a lot of the same plays, and it's not just coincidence. Obviously the fumble thing is on Lynch, but Bevell is...I'd say hot and cold, but it's cold and hot. Cold in the first half, then hot in the second. He's fully capable of calling a string of brilliant plays that make a 4th quarter drive look ridiculously easy. I want to see a lot more of that in the first half.
Execution will always be more important than play calling, IMO. IN the first half we haven't seen good execution. Poorly thrown balls and missed blocks are the main problem. Sure you can say it's bad play calling but the first quater by and large is a feeling out process. You may prepare for certain looks all week only to have the defense show something completely different and have to adjust on the fly. I don't think it's so easy to blame the OC. Everything I hear form RW, PC,ect is "we need to execute better."
