Are you seriously expecting anything more than a last place finish this season? Not trying to be a smartass, but IMO the ship has SAILED on 2024, we're so far from being competitive it's tragic.
Did you honestly believe that this team was going to compete for the division with all new coaches, a crappy OL and a lot of new players on defense?

He probably is. Purdy has been better since the day he stepped onto the field for the first time, and Murray is playing MUCH better. Maybe you could argue Stafford because he's basically being held together by duct tape at this point, but health aside, Stafford is the one I'm trusting more to make the big throws and avoid the bad decisions when the game is on the line.
Purdy is surrounded with talent, a decent OL (#14 PFF) and great skill players. Stafford has a decent OL (#18 PFF) but he's been w/o a lot of his skill players due to injury but Puka and Kupp are back. Geno has good skill players but a terrible OL (#30 PFF). Stafford is borderline elite, whereas Geno is above average and Purdy is average. If you put Geno behind the Niners OL I think he'd do better than Purdy but not as good as Stafford.

Geno would thrive in SF. What gets me is how good the rams are with no picks and dead cap last year. WTF?

Same with Chiefs, how they're almost always nailing their draft picks and FA.

If JS wanted to win, he'd find a way.

Fair question. No, but when we started 3-0 I admittedly started with the Kool-Aid. We've come back down to earth and so have I. On a positive note, this season has exposed just how poorly built the Seahawks are and that building through the trenches is the best way to fielding an elite team.

Your avatar is too cool for me to get too annoyed, but while I'm not expecting a playoff run, until we're out of it, I find it interesting to follow the race. I wouldn't mind being wrong.
2 chicks at the same time.

That's fair. We did, after all, win our division once upon a time with a 7-9 record to then go on and beat my favorite team to hate, the Saints. I wouldn't throw anything heavy through my TV if we made the playoffs in similar fashion, I just fear we'd get embarrassed against legit competition on national television. I'm mainly hoping to see some level of improvement and the thinning of players who aren't with the new program.

On that note, the Hawks just cut ILB Tyrel Dodson. Whoa..

I appreciate the honesty. I too got overly enthusiastic with the early season success and have since reverted to my pre-season attitude of just wanting to see improvement. Show me some signs to be hopeful for next year.

If we don't see a concerted effort to improve the OL next offseason it'll be obvious to me that JS doesn't know what he's doing. That may mean we have to jettison players like Lockett, DK, Dre and/or Fant to make it work. If we can pick up 2 FA starters on the OL and draft 1-2 more plus a receiver and use the rest on D that would be a recipe for success in my eyes. We can worry about QB in 2026.

+1, I absolutely changed my expectations after the 3-0 start. It's natural to get stoked.

Now, we're about where were expected to be. An up and down team with a lot of work to do.

Hard to argue the bye week went well for us, aside from the Rams getting upset on MNF.

Things were trending downwards quickly. Awesome that the team was able to bounce back, because it very well could have gotten away. Still quite a bit to clean up. Good shot at the playoffs. Right now, it'd probably be the 3 seed, hosting whoever finishes worse between the Vikings and Packers. If the Bucs go on a run, it's likely the 4 against the better of those two. Getting both down the stretch could be a good opportunity to get comfortable if we see them again.

We can't beat anyone in our division, lol. I don't think Geno is the worst QB in the division, but we are clearly the worst team in the division. We suck and there is no hope this season. Sorry to break it to you, but that's reality...
It amazes me how often someone makes an opinionated declaration and punctuates it by claiming it is "reality", when in reality it is still merely an opinionated statement. Opinionated statements are often subjected to poor ageing.

Your divisional QB ranking pretty much mirrors mine.

We lose this week and playoff picture gets really murky. I'm happy with the progress I've seen on D. I never expected this team to be a contender this year.
