I have a feeling this is finally the week we actually come out strong during the first half on the road particularly with the offense. I think that the team is going to want to prove that they can play a complete game from start to finish and prove wrong some of the doubters. Anyone else think this too?

This is the game that tells me that we really ARE superbowl contenders. That we might go like 14-2, 15-1, 16-0. That the number 1 seed is in our grasp. If we beat Saints at home that should lock on the #1 seed IMO. GOd damn I love this team and this is OUR YEAR!!

Are you serious? You really need this week to tell you those things? They are already true, bro. Today. Nothing that happens on Sunday is gonna change that. We are going to the Super Bowl.

I don't feel it.. I think starting out slow is a chronic issue with this team. If ever they would have realized to come out fast n strong from the start, it would have been the playoff Falcons game last year after starting out slow in the previous game against the redskins.

I blame the coaching for this.. Especially Bevell. I think he is an excellent 2nd half coordinator, but he calls horrible first halfs.

I think last week's game was our stinker for the 1st half of the season. We are one of the best teams in football and way too good to come out of the gates like that 2 straight weeks. I see us putting together an amazing performance. The problem is the Colts are a pretty darn good football team in their own right and are gonna score some points. 34-23 Seahawks

If I had to choose which half I wanted to be strongest in I'd go for the second half.

Could be the duct tape and staples O line also.

Pretty sure Bevell has NOTHING to do with Marshawn fumbling on a promising drive in the first half of the Falcons game, or McCoy Dropping an important 3rd down catch against Washington, or Seattle not converting on 4th down in the first half of the Falcons.

Don't blame the cordinator for poor execution. IN both The Redskins and Falcons games the execution was spotty at best in the 1st half. It's no coincidence that these exact things occured against the Texans and put us in a hole.

I've noticed over the last 2 years that Seattle has been a slow starter in each of those seasons. Look at the 2nd half of 2011, and 2012. The OL's played significantly better in those last 8 games and the offense took off. I think Seattle will continue to improve offensively as the season progresses.

(Also Cable & Carroll have no say in first half game plans). It's easier to just find a scapegoat. Facts be damned.

I'd feel a whole lot better this week with our Pro Bowl left tackle and Breno back. Our O-line is paper-thin on a team that is deep everywhere else. Instead of claiming qb's from San Fran when we're set at that position, I wish we were claiming or trading for O-linemen. That line could undo everything that we're hoping for this season, including possible injury to Wilson. It's our obvious weak-link, and everybody knows it. But hey! At least the D is now at full-strength! And that's HUGE! Welcome back Bruuuuuce! Go Hawks!

that would be kind. Mr Wilson has the dubious honor of being hit or sacked more than any QB in the NFL when he drops back to pass. That cant continue.

Is it just me but I don't think we will allow more than 21 points in any given game this year.

If all the Texans can manage is 20 points on like 40 minutes of possession and 88 offensive plays. Than we aren't going to give up much more than that, I don't think.

Disagree that Bevell has nothing to do with the team's first half performance and overall lack of sustained success / explosiveness. Is he responsible for poor execution? of course not. but many here have been questioning play design and calling for more than a few weeks, and just today, there was a spot on NFL Network or ESPN where either Steve Young or Kurt Warner (cant remember which) was asked to what he attributed Seattle's poor passing game. He identified unsophisticated play design as a contributing factor. Its not a secret, the play calls and route designs / situational calls have been questionable at best. there's no 'plan' to get guys open, few option routes, little in the way of audibles and just odd decision making at times. I'm beginning to think this dude is another beneficiary of a fortunate, golden season much as Brian Billick was was back in the 90s when he parlayed a record breaking performance from r cunningham, et al. into a head coaching gig, a rep for being an offensive genius, and a ton of cash. Bevell's rep is built on a pretty remarkable season when he had Brett Favre as QB and pseudo, 'on-field' o-coordinator. Before that season - unremarkable, after, when Brett was dinged and Sid was out...meh.
I just hope his lack of creativity doesnt waste the potential this offense has to be one of the best in the league. Especially this week when Russ and the team have a chance to go head to head against Luck and the Colts, and this season, when it seems as though, despite the sluggish performance, the stars could be aligning.

This game doesn't tell us if we're Super Bowl contenders.

It tells us if we're 19-0 contenders.

If we win @ Indy, the 1972 Dolphins better start keeping an eye on us. Our schedule is easier for the rest of the year, basically. Saints could be a problem, but we play them at our house.

All I have to say in regards to jlwaters1's post is go look at the Redskins game and look at the plays we TRIED to run in the first half, and then at the ones we tried (and ran much more successfully) in the second half. We were not using a lot of the same plays, and it's not just coincidence. Obviously the fumble thing is on Lynch, but Bevell is...I'd say hot and cold, but it's cold and hot. Cold in the first half, then hot in the second. He's fully capable of calling a string of brilliant plays that make a 4th quarter drive look ridiculously easy. I want to see a lot more of that in the first half.

why? do you honestly believe a guy we trade for or sign can perform better THIS WEEK than a guy who's been in the system for a few months and the staff knows his strengths and weaknesses fairly well? I don't. The fact is anyone we sign would take time to get acclimated to the system and would have to get used to playing next to Sweezy or Carp.

WHereas with Bowie he know has 1.5 games under his belt and should continue to improve. I'd take the continuity and experience over some new guy who is an unknown quantity.

I am fantasizing about TWO undefeated teams meeting in NYC for the SuperBowl.

The best offense in history vs the best defense in history=the greatest sporting event in history.

Ok, I gotta bring this up 'cause it's been bugging me for awhile now. Who in the HELL actually believes that the stupid Saints are actually gonna come up here to Century Link field and beat us? I would rate every, single away game left on the schedule as a bigger threat of losing than that game. The 12th man is gonna get plenty of warning that a damn good Saints team is coming into OUR house, and I think they need to drag out the DB meter again, 'cause it is gonna be off-the-charts insane in there, especially if we continue winning at the rate we are right now! I'll plunk down some serious cash to any takers that wanna take the 'aint's in the hell-den that is the Clink.

Anyhoo, just sayin'....

I've thought about this at least three separate times during the last 10 days, or so. It would be freaking AMAZING. Talk about hype; holy smokes. Plus, we could use it to settle the "Who wins when the best defense plays the best offense?" question on a national level. We semi-answered it last year when the Patriots (#1 offense at the time) played at our house, and we were the #1 defense at the time; but that was a very close game.
