The year of the Sea-haters?

I don't go noticing or caring about other teams hating on the Hawk-boys, but I noticed a large influx of sea-hate this off season. I don't do facebook but I have IG & Twitter. It seems Everytime the Hawk-boy post something on IG a whole swarm of 9ers fans come and start taking trash about us and cause a huge ruckus, calling the Hawk-boys a horrible team and having nothing good to say. I think with all this seasons hype, other teams are feeling left out and feel the obligation to piss in our Cheerios. This season has turned the league into a west coast bias and now every bro is mad! Is it just me or are the 9-ers in super attack mode this offseason?

I will leave you with a joke.

How many 49-ers fans does it take to change a light bulb?

None, they will all show and talk about how good the old one was...

A lot of it is just envy, but it doesn't help that too many of our players have a big mouth.

I'm not worried about it. The almost-comeback against Atlants made a lot of new Seahawks fans out of several of my friends.

No. East Coast bias is alive and strong. One season doesn't change all that. You've got something like 2/3 of the population on the eastern seaboard. I think what you meant to say was something more like the balance of power. Don't mistake that for media and fan bias.

As far as the rest of the post... I hear ya. There is a lot of hate, disrespect... all that. It's not just from 49ers fans (though, perhaps they're the most annoying.) Fans on the east coast think the Hawks and us fans are inferior just because of the location of the team. As much press as the Seahawks are getting... don't anyone be fooled that they're at risk of being over-hyped. While the rest of the NFL teams may take them somewhat seriously, east coast fans really don't think much of the Hawks. Unless they win the Super Bowl, none of that will even begin to change.

Everytime I turn the tv on its all about Tom Brady/Patriots, somemore Patriots and Tom Brady, NY Jets/QB Competition, more NY Jets, Miami Dolphins, RGIII, more NY Jets and Tom Brady... Denver and Peyton throwing to Welker (That's where the actual West Coast begins), some additional coverage of the NY Jets and Patriots... and when they breakaway from their East Coast knobslobbering and mention SF and Seattle its all about how spectacularly fantastically awesome Kraperschmuck is and forever will be and then a 30 second segment on "What did Richard Sherman say today"...

When you're good, they're going to hate you. It's the nature of sports. I'd rather be hated than constantly pitied because the only people whose opinions I care about are Seahawks fans. (And even then, some of you have work to do...)

If people hate you, it means your team is good. I like to think about all the hate I had for Dallas back in the 90s and New England and Pittsburgh in the last decade and then tell myself...that's the direction the Seahawks are headedl, and that is a good thing.

People hate us now cause we're good. Obviously we need to go out and win a SB or two or three before we actually become like those teams, but when we do, we will have to embrace the hate from others much the same as successful teams have had to embrace the hate from us.

Honestly, I don't think 49ers fans come on here and talk trash. I'd argue that Seahawks fans talk way more trash than the 49ers posters. You guys don't like our team and therefore devote hundreds of threads about our team that are filled with misinformation and hate.

The one thing that 49ers fans can be blamed for on this forum is the fact that we have a tendency to turn a thread about Percy Harvin into a thread about the 49ers. Either way, it's not like the Seahawks fans don't add fuel to the fire.

The hate comes with the extra attention our team has been getting.

And our team has been getting attention because it has gotten to be one of the better teams in the league.

You don't hear about people hating on the Jaguars, and there's a reason for that.

So just accept all the backlash as the inevitable outcome of our team being one of the best in the league and the resulting media coverage that comes from that.
