I'm going to keep this thread up as a testament to how awful the AFC truly is over the last six weeks of the season.
One might think that the Steelers are the sixth-seed after their win over Cleveland. Not so! The Tennessee Titans are the new sixth-seed by virtue of a terrible-looking win over the equally-awful Raiders.
Right now, the fifth- and sixth-wild card spots in the AFC look like so:
5th: Kansas City Chiefs (9-2)
6th: Tennessee Titans (5-6)
Outside looking in (in order of tiebreak for teams with like records):
Pittsburgh Steelers (5-6)
Baltimore Ravens (5-6)
San Diego Chargers (5-6)
New York Jets (5-6)
Oakland Raiders (4-7)
Buffalo Bills (4-7)
Cleveland Browns (4-7)
I don't ever want to hear moaning and whining about the 2010 NFC West again because between the NFC East and the AFC's wild card contenders outside of KC, there has never been worse football being played in so many cities at the same time.
