Flexibility is paramount. John loves having the draft come to him so I expect a fair number of cuts and signings in the next two months.

This works for us in a couple ways, team thinks we want a QB leaps ahead leaving a DE for us, or they offer us an assortment of picks and maybe player we need to fill a position move back and still get what we really wanted. Cards, Bears, are two teams ahead of us that really could roll without a Rookie having guys on the roster, Feilds is a question mark but if offered up picks and being so bad they may take the picks, Murrey For the Cards is the starter and McCoy the backup, problem they have is both may not be back before season, doubt they sell out for a Rookie that will sit mostly, better to sign a Vet as a place holder. Then us, we know we have options, Raiders, Falcons, and Panthers all would be trade partners most likely, and John will be leveraging their picks heavily looking at, position on board and quantity round and year.

Levi and Richardson are the two likely to be available at #5, if we trade down to 7 (Raider) or 9 (Panther), both would be gone. What if Stroud would to be available at #5? Trade or draft?

Meh it’s not sorcery. Seattle is considering QB at 5 and probably has a name of one of them they take if he’s there. It’s just too valuable of a chip to not

Orrrrr just maybe they want to get a trade offer they can’t refuse.

To me, it's very simple: Young, Stroud, Richardson, Levis, Carter, and Anderson are all worth taking at 5 for the Seahawks. I don't agree with others that Carter will slide. That's 6 players. We're drafting 5th. We're guaranteed one of them. It doesn't make sense to trade down as I think there is a drop-off after that. You miss out on the 2 that remain when you already have another first rounder and 2 second rounders. Don't get greedy. If I'm the Hawks, I rank those 6 and take the best guy that remains. If I had to rank them today, I'd probably go:

Young
Richardson
Carter
Stroud
Levis
Anderson

In 2018 Buffalo moved up to #7 to take Josh Allen, and gave up a 1st(12)+2nd(53)+2nd(56)

Carolina has two 2nds this year.

As much as I'm hoping for one of the QBs, it should be tempting if the Panthers offered #9+2nd(40)+2nd(62), or #9+#40+2024 1st

If an article came out, announcing Seattle accomplished what they set out to do by planting a seed, then obviously that can’t be the case because everyone knows about it. So we and the person that wrote the article know that they are lying, but the other teams don’t know this? Frankly, it’s just a dumb statement.

Or maybe they are not lying for a change. That’s the game Nobody truly knows.

Assuming we have 6 players in our board that we want to take with our first pick in the draft and if we assume someone above us takes someone not on that list that allows us to trade with the raiders and still get the guy we want.

Also, when have Pete and John taken the guy we think we need with the first pick? Their first pick is usually someone unexpected. Really we have so many options for what they actually want to do.

One thing I’m sure of is they will probably make most of us scratch our heads a bit when it comes to what they do with that pick.

When PC and JS pick in the top ten (yes, I know, a small sample size of 2) they are very predictable. Russell Okung at 6 (2010) and Charles Cross at 9 were easy to predict.

If Seattle were to take a QB, Stroud is the one I'd like to see them take.

Well I hope we don't get too cute, cause most of the draft news this weekend after the combine was that there is MAYBE 10-12 truly elite 1st round athletes in this draft.

So if we drop down once to pick up another 2nd rounder or 1st rounder next year?........AND still pick in the top 10? I'm OK with that, but if we drop out of the top 10 I'm going to be pissed.

Good organizations don't get top 5 picks but once every 20 years. Better damn well use it.
