Why can't people make these video's without the loud as hell hip-hop music? I started to watch but stopped as soon as I heard the music.

Hmmmm, you should see if your computer comes with the option of turning the volume down. I don't think all of them do, but worth a shot.

According to the comments, the music in question is by the son of the guy that posted the video which probably explains the choice.

If you were to go out there and rank all of the top playmakers in the NFL (those guys whom people would agree are dangerous legitimate game breaking players) ... Harvin would easily be in the top 5 -- if not at THE top. Danny O'Neil said it best, "If he were coming out in this draft, there's no question he'd be the #1 Pick." I don't care what the official stats say ... you can see it on game film that this guy has legitimate sub 4.3 speed. AND he actually has excellent skills as a WR. This is a guy that is going to impact the entire Seahawks offense, as he is going to make EVERYONE better out there. DB's now have someone to worry about that will force them to play deep center field for ... and that in and of itself will lead to big numbers for everyone else. Oh yeah you should feel good about this pickup. The Seahawks just rolled a Yahtzee.

This year's 1st round draft pick is equivalent to next years 2nd round draft pick imo.

I don't feel like there is a lot of real value or interest from JS and PC for a player that can only be got in round 1 as opposed to round 2.

That is why I feel like this is ok and even a good trade for the Seahawks.

Dude changes directions almost like Barry. Amazing body control. You can't teach that, not can you learn it. Dude was born a great athleate.

i wanted to say that as well, but i was scurred.. and you're right you can't teach that..

You guys can flame me, but he DOES change directions even faster than Barry. The speed of the game is so much faster today that it's obvious his and probably 75% of the NFL's change of pace is superior to even 10-15 years ago.

Watching highlights of Barry back to back with Harvin, it's night and day - and I don't think it's because of the video quality from back in the day....

Yeah, He is Marshawn Lynch in a Receivers body!

I hadn't seen much of Percy Harvin, but the way Hugh Millen was describing his physicality made me think of Marshawn Lynch, but as a receiver.

Now I've seen some highlight videos, and it looks like an apt comparison. Look at the hit he absorbs at 3:35, then gets 20+ more yards.

Dude is 24, and he already has an insane number of highlights in the NFL. I'm pumped.

While watching that video I noticed someone had compiled a Ponder highlight reel from last year. Kind of unrelated, but here is an example of how a highlight film can make any joker look good:

ps: not implying anything about PH and his highlights, just a funny (to me) sidebar
This is my favorite highlight video of Ponder :snack:

But Harvin didn't have the fastest 40 time ever. He's fast, but there's more to it.

First of all, like someone said, he doesn't waste any time, he just goes.

Second, watch his kick returns to see the full effect of his genius: He takes the absolute least, most subtle angle necessary to get the edge. That's why he's always running downhill, he only makes sharp cuts when he absolutely needs to. He's fluid.

Also, he bounces off people and knocks over people and stays upright, but that's just gravy.

Like AP and Carroll said, this guys just a straight football player.

Percy Harvin is a Jedi. No other way to explain how he pulls ahead of people and outruns the hell out of them, particularly on some of those kick returns. Absolutely ridiculous. Gotta be using the Force. Is that a banned "substance" in the NFL? Seems unfair that he can cast Force Speed at will.

Whoa. Consider yourself flamed. In general though, I hate the comparison. Barry was the best dancer in the history of dancers. He breaks your ankles. Percy doesn't dance. His paths resemble much straighter lines. Very, very fast, yet straight, lines. He just isn't a Sanders/Hester type. I guess you could argue Percy's change of direction is "faster", but Barry could change directions 8 times in 1.4 seconds, Percy can't. Percy goes 800 miles an hour, stops, makes a guy miss, then gets back to 800 miles an hour.

I'm so stocked for Harvin!!! with him i cannot say i gurantee a SB apperance, but I would gurantee a NFCW title!!

If we get an NFCW title, we are in the SB. The two best teams in the entire NFL are us and the Niners. I respect the title of Champion, so I give them an ever slight edge. The NFCW Champion will represent the NFC in the SB. Considering the falcons don't have such an easy schedule this year, I think the NFCW champ will probably have home field throughout. It's going to be a hell of battle, and we if wouldn't have picked up a playmaker like Harvin, Im not sure we get past a Niner team with Boldan and their slew of draft talent.

He just outruns the defense, if they miss one tackle look out as his acceleration is extremely quick.
Love this trade!

Maybe. I'll only guarantee it if we're the #1 seed. If we finish with 12 wins because the Rams and 49ers are kicking ass and taking names, but we win the division yet only get one playoff game at home...We're far from guaranteed to make the Super Bowl.

You are 100% right, Percy isn't a dancer. Name one player in the NFL that can "dance" in todays game, though.

I can't name one, at least not in the way that players were able to back in the day. I think it's purely because players are so much faster and athletic than ever before. Watching players like Barry Sanders and Emmitt Smith, that were amazing with the ball in their hands and made tons of guys miss, you can't help but look at how slow the opposing players are and how terrible of technique they show. An average LB today = a great LB 15 years ago.

The evolution of the sport is not only being bigger but being faster, smarter, having better technique, etc. It's like strategy and game plans changing and evolving over the years. Players get better and better over the years and now-a-days the top players are separated by such smaller margins than ever before. But I'm not saying that yesterdays greats wouldn't be special in today's game. Gifted athletes aspire to be the best and generally push their limits more and more, so I have no doubt that Barry Sanders or Bo Jackson couldn't be amazing athletes today.

In reply to your post, I'm just saying that with what the game is today, I don't think there is the huge gap in talent/ability to be able to "dance" and realistically clown defenses over and over and over.

Sorry to thread jack.

Based on the title I expected this to be about boobs.

When Adrian Peterson says he feels like he got kicked in the gut, we got a good player.

Yea well i was hoping that some of the guys with great boob avatars would post in this thread. See the slieght of hand?

What impresses me most about him? His ability to accelerate after sprinting for 20 yards. Blows my mind that you can sprint that hard for 20 yards, and then still accelerate faster. Its another machine on this team. Pretty soon, our whole team will have nothing but robots, and people will call us cheaters.
